The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The hotel was off the main street, so it was fairly quiet and peaceful - even on the rowdy Friday and Saturday nights. It was ideally placed for Headingley cricket and rugby grounds. Attentiveness of staff. Quality of furnishings and decor. Excellent food and service.A tremendous Hotel - excellent room and food. Real value for money. I will stay again!.

The staff were extremely pleasant and helpful. The food was very good and our turret room was spacious with a lovely view. It was newly refurbished to a good standard. We liked the excellent location, the helpful service, and there was an open fire in the bar. Close to the main st in Headingly.The room was large and comfartable, as was the large bed. Looked a nice place to stay. One light bulb in room not working,. Room comfortable and clean, bathroom was very tired.no. The vening meal was very pricey. The room needed a little more finishing with better lighting and a bedside table with lamp. pillows not very comfortable - hard. initially booking was arranged for double bed rather than the twin requested. However, this was quickly resolved. Breakfast at 8.45 was cold and very overcooked. When asked if thebreakfast was freshly cooked the waiter assured us it was. 'The chefcooks it at 6.ooam every morning'. The first room we were allocated was very dated and dark and the bathroom had an unpleasant smell. We were moved to a lovely room which had clearly been modernised and was excellent. grass on front lawn was untidy and gave poor appearance also bedroom curtains shielded splendid view of trees. Only problem with room was that there was only one plug for a hairdryer which was shared with the kettle and desk had to be moved to use. The service at breakfast was very slow and poor. I had to ask at reception for someone to serve in the bar and drinks were extremely expensive!. Our room was above the bar. so drunk men in groups of 30 until 2am was not what i was looking for or expecting.

Many of the luxury rooms are to be found in Bedford House, a Grade II Listed building which in its day, was home to a Victorian gentleman, himself a leading architect of his generation.

Travelling information

From the South (m1/m621)
South of Leeds, the m1 splits at j43: follow signs for m621 (do not follow m1 Leeds East). Leave m621 at Junction 3 (Leeds City Centre). Cross city centre and follow signs around Inner Loop for Skipton a660 and local signs to University. Pass University half mile north of city centre. Continue one and a half miles to Headingley Village. Notice the 'Skyrack' public house on the left as the road bends slightly to the right. Shire Oak Road is the first road on the right between the hsbc (Midland) Bank and Starbucks Coffee House.

From the West (m62)
Leave m62 at Junction 27 joining the m621 into Leeds. Leave the m621 at Junction 2. At end of slip road, turn left to Harrogate/ Wetherby /York. At next roundabout, turn right for the city centre. Take the a58m inner ring road and take the first exit from the tunnel for Skipton, a660. Pass University half mile north of city centre. Continue one and a half miles to Headingley Village. From the North (Harrogate, Wetherby, York)
Follow the Leeds Outer ring road A6120 westwards to the junction with the Otley Road A660. Turn left towards City Centre. Enter Headingley Village after two miles. Proceed through two junctions with sets of traffic lights. Shire Oak Road is on the left towards the end of the shopping area, between the HSBC (Midland) Bank and Starbucks Coffee House.
