The hotel is in the heart of the business district, so it is a quieter neighborhood on the weekends, but bustling during the week. There are a number of nearby pubs, and a Marks & Spencer across the street if you require groceries. Requests were dealt with immediately and we even got a tour of the hotel as we were interested in the history and architecture. The location is ideal. The check-in was over in seconds and our room was large, and had everything ~ including the kitchen sink!... and the cost was as unbelievably small as the bed was unbelievably large!   I used the hotel as a get away from my own apartment in shoreditch where my son was having a party. I was delighted that the special offer was on for 79 pounds otherwise staying wouldn't have been possible to do. I liked my room - I did visit the holiday express where a friend was staying - at the Hoxton rooms were waaaay nicer.
