Everything! I was up from Central Scotland for a weekend conference at the Eden Centre and I couldn't have been treated better if I was the Queen. I was 2.5hrs late, due to weather conditions but I was very warmly welcomed by Margaret, the propriates. I'm disabled and was in the disabled room, right next to the front door. It was lovely, large, with spacious, disabled toilet & very comfy bed. breakfast was great. good choice of food, scrumptious porridge and the poached eggs, perfect (had t. kaikki arvostelut »
I stayed in the single room which was spacious and good value for money. Very comfortable bed and the room was spotless. A very friendly and helpful manager.
Excellent central location, right in the heart of Inverness, capital of the Highlands. Also just a 2 minute walk from Eden Court Theatre (see website for shows, concerts, plays and cinema films programme). Only a 5 minute walk over the River Ness and you are in the centre of Inverness. Lovely walks along the river, with the castle looking .
Two houses combined to make up this B&B.
Breakfast room was big and upgraded to Inn standards - excellent.
Hostess was friendly and accomodating.
Limited available parking on the B&B premise, but street parking is fine if you wake up for breakfast - as guest leave just move your street parked car into their premise.
Internet works for me but can be weak at times in the room. I used it downstairs and it was fine.
I liked the fact that it was so near the centre of town - and a lovely walk along and across the river to get there.
And - as many others have remarked - it was very clean and the staff were very friendly and helpful.
Good shower (though small - it wouldn't have suited an very overweight person!). Good bed.
Breakfast was fine, esp considering the cost. The porridge is outstanding!.
The price was not very high as a B&B, but the experience was great. Although the bathroom was shared but I believe there weren't a lot of people to share that one because whenever I want to use the toilet, it was always empty. And it was very clean as well. The breakfast was very good. The staffs were very helpful and friendly. I'm very satisfied with this trip. :).
This place was amazing. The rooms are new, big, bright, very clean, and
the beds are really comfy. Breakfast was perfect as well, as we could
have a full Scottish breakfast. Margaret is a wonderful host, very
friendly and willing to help. Also, the location was great - only a few
minutes' walk from the city centre. A perfect spot in Inverness, and
excellent value.
The lady running the place was very kind and gentle and the place did
not lack anything that I would need for a proper visit to Inverness.
I paid 66 gbp for two nights, which was the lowest price during the
time I did the booking, and I think that was a fair price for the
general feel and the quality of the place. I may choose to stay there
again in summer.
The staff were all really friendly and helpful. There was a really good breakfast - you put in your request the night before and it is ready at the time you say. Self-serve tea/coffee/juice, cereal and toast. Rooms an de suites were clean and comfortable. Five minutes walk to main shops. In a quiet street just off the main road to Loch Ness and Ben Nevis.
Ardross Glencairn was perfectly located in the city of Inverness. It was very easy to find, was comfortable, and served a wonderful breakfast -- great value for the money. They have some on-site parking, and fortunately they were able to accommodate our car. I would definitely stay again.
Everything was very easy booking in and out, getting breakfast in the morning (which was lovely!). The owners and staff were very polite and welcoming and the room was gorgeous for the price and extremely comfy especially after a 15 hour coach journey! Thank you so much Ardross Glencairn.
I found the guesthouse very convenient for all parts of Inverness, the shops, rail and bus station. Also the staff were good and I received lots of help with my luggage etc., which I need now.I do not know if I will ever be in Inverness ahgain but if so I would hope to stay again.
It was really close to the city centre, while room itself was very
comfortable, the staff were awesomely kind, helpful. Furthermore the
hotel lays really close to the a82 road just a turn and you are on
the way to Loch Ness and other magnificent scottish places on the
west (Skye).
Location on quiet street but very close to centre of town. Opposite Cathedral and one block from Eden Court Theatre. I had a very nice first floor bedroom at the front of the house. Staff was very accomodating in letting me use the computer to check for an important e mail.
The best hostel under my 2 weeks journey to see Scotland. And also the cheapest I found on letsbookhotel.com in Inverness. Fantastic breakfast included. WiFi and al. 100% recommend. Absolutely coming back. Whits I did also again under my journey in Scotland.
Great value. No frills. Staff very helpful. Located right off main road from the south and within walking distance of train station. We walked up to Castle Tavern for dinner. I sampled 3 ales for price of one. Room was small, compact but comfortable.
Fantastic location, five minutes walk to city center, quiet area tagt could provide you a comfortable rest during the night and early morning. Good facilities and friendly staffs, excellent experience to stay and would like to stay there again!.
A good loaction, close to the city and quiet. About 6 blocks from the bus and railway stations. Clean and comfortable. Very helpful staff. Given a key and was free to come and go as I wished. Breakfast was standard fare but hot and prompt.
The hotel was clean & smart all the staff that I encountered were very efficient and pleasant & I thought the price was exellent value and far better than others that charged a lot more. lovely breakfast cooked fresh as I ate my cereal.
Loved the staff. So friendly. The breakfast was amazing. Such a great
location. Beautiful street and hotel. It was so close to the town we
took a walk and crossed the foot bridge that was very close to the
hotel. Cute comfortable rooms.
Delicious breakfast, very welcoming staff, excellent information from the general manager on what to see, eat and enjoy in Inverness, our family loved it and was just sorry that we were only there one night, could have stayed longer!!!!.
Central location, very friendly staff and very clean. Lovely breakfast
and parking not a problem as mentioned in previous reviews. Parking is
available at the Inverness Cathedral car park, just down the road - 2
pounds for 24 hours.
It was cheap, very clean and very roomy.
Breakfast was pretty tasty and very good. The staff was very friendly, especially the girl who cooked our breakfast.
It was in a good location. Very easy to go to Loch Ness in the morning.
Friendly staff. Parking right outside: free from 5pm to 10am, and even if you decide to get a parking ticket the fine is only 30 pounds (which is less than a day's legitimate parking in Cambridge, where I originally come from).
The owner was lovely, she was very friendly and helpful. The other staff were friendly and efficient as well. I was able to borrow an iron in the morning. The premises were clean and comfortable, a very nice place to stay.
Manager was above and beyond, our luggage was lost at the airport and
being delivered here, check out was 10:30 he said to stay til parcel
arrived (after 12 noon) nice breakfast and great location to walk the
river and town.
I liked the warm reception upon our arrival to the premises. our room was lovely and spacious(great for the kids). Good nights sleep had by all. Breakfast was lovely, plenty on offer to eat. staff were always happy to help.
Very close to the city (5 mins walk). Nice and friendly staff. Quiet during the night. The offered us a free parking space in the backyard.
I would highly recomend to stay in this hotel if you are visiting Inverness.
The room was very clean and large enough for three persons.
It was very close to the central area.
We were lucky about the parking because on Sundays is free to park on the road in front of the accommodation.
Spacious, clean (bath)room, very good breakfast, friendly staff, free wifi, good location (not the best, but since Inverness is not that big, we have done everything on foot). Definitely a recommendation!.
The room was very nice and had a nice comfortable bed. The staff was really friendly. The location is very good for walking to the city and also there is a very nice walk along the river. Good breakfast.
The friendly staff, easy to find and good parking. Lovely food. We were
impressed how clean Inverness and the rest of Scotland where we have
travelled very clean, and everyone so helpful anf friendly.
Great location near river and bridges into town. Good walking along the river and also close to the cinema and restaurants.
Had a car park also. Great breakfast included. Very good value for money.
Very courteous staff, wonderful breakfast and spacious room.
The location is very central and gives you an amazing riverside walk stones-throw away. However the town itself is a very small affair.
The staff were very friendly, approachable and helpful. The room was just perfect and very reasonably priced, and the breakfast (porridge followed by full highland breakfast) was just fantastic!.
The staff were really helpful and friendly and their warmth did'nt feel forced or false. The rooms looked better in real life than they did in the photos.I would definately stay there again!.
Owner was very welcoming and was putting breakfast on specially early to accomodate the marathon runners. Clean and comfortable room and excellent breakfast. Free wifi a bonus too!.
convenient location.
Powerful shower with no shortage of hot water.
Ample supply of tea / coffee
Comfortable.
Good value for money
Good self service breakfast.
Spacious dining room.
The location was extremely quiet and peaceful and a very short walk into
town. Rooms were clean and comfortable. The breakfast was absolutely
superb and the service was very good.
The receptionist was fantastic. The room was what I expected for such a good price, clean and all I needed. In fact I would of stayed more nights but they were fully booked.
The staff were very helpful indeed. I have Parkinson's and find stairs difficult,. As soon as she found out she moved us tro a room near the entrance on the ground floor.
We only stayed one night, but it was a great experience - helpfull staff (receptionist), good location, a clean and cosy room with all needed amenities and a great price.
We were most interested in sights nearby Inverness such as Loch Ness, Cawdor Castle. Hotel was disappointing in its décor; very simple and plain, but not uncomfortable.
Location was wonderful and easy to locate, about a block from the cathedral and town center. Decor was better than I expected for the price. Staff was wonderful.
Ideally situated for train station, shops, bars and strolling along the banks of the river Ness.
Good clean accommodation, friendly staff and great breakfast.
Clean freshly decorated/updated room and shower facilities. Wonderful position close to centre of Inverness and main theatre but quiet. Very friendly staff.
the location was perfect. It was very comfortable. the breakfast was excellent.staff very friendly. I would not hesitate in recommending this accommodation.
The location, within easy walk of the river ness and restaurants and pubs with a view of the castle, was excellent. the staff were very friendly and helpful.
the location was very convenient for walking "down town"...our room was quiet, very clean and comfortable. Breakfast was served with a friendly staff.
Location was excellent and fortunately we were lucky enough to get a park, something that is not readily available. The location was also very quiet.
Not really a B&B as it has grown and expanded but still treat you
special. Clean, comfortable, centrally located, efficient and a good
breakfast.
1. Not really not like but a wee tip for your staff - don't just skoosh the toilet cleanser around the bowl and leave it = cleanser stains. You need to use toilet brush and flush.
2. Might be helpful to have some local bus timetables and where nearest bus stop is, lying around, for use of guests.
Nothing at all major. Only a very minor point, but would have preferred fresh (rather than instant) coffee for breakfast, and some fresh fruit and maybe yoghurts on offer for breakfast. Otherwise a good breakfast (with cereals, toasts and a selection of cooked items to choose from).
Beware the corner street private residence car park with the mean lady shooing guests away with threats. I understand where they are coming from.
Simply avoid this car park altogether and street park and avoid the confrontation. The Inn does mention they have a spot there but the residence people have totally different opinions of this. Until the Inn buys out this place, don't bother with the hassle.
There was no carpet on the floor of my small single room. I asked about this and next time I came back they had bought one! It made a big difference. Perhaps this should go under "Like"!.
The room was quite small, but for me it's quite enough for a single person. The sink in room was also very small, which is a tiny little problem because it is very easy to make water out of it. But this is really nothing comparing with the whole good situation.
I was told the free wi-fi was at the moment not available in my room and
that it was noted beforehand. I didn't understand how the repairs
etc. were affecting the availability of the wi-fi from the room, but
anyway, I did get online in the small hall easily. The location was
alright, but considering the scale of the city, the proximity of the
place to the city center (7 minutes or so) would hardly be defined as
"close to center".
No negatives.
Breakfast was only average.
Nothing.... :o).
Parking might be a problem but we parked free in front of hotel as we were there Sat eve and Sunday morning.
Nothing.
Room a bit small, but that was expected for the price.
Just a couple of minor things - a meat sausage instead of veggie. V minor indeed.
Nothing.
Having to go home!!!!.
We didn't like the breakfast.
There was not opened the central heating all day(only for few hours) and we had to use a small portable heater for the room and the bedroom all the night.
Nothing negative to report!.
This is being really picky... Pillows a bit hard, squeeky doors.
TV not in front of the bed but on the side, which was a bit irritating. Plus the room heater would stop working right in the middle of the night, making it very uncomfortable if u happen to be awake.
The tv in our room did'nt work right. The toilet moved when you sat down on it. The bacon was a bit over cooked for my liking but everybody has different tastes!None of these would stop me staying at this hotel again!Great value for money!.
Cheap sausages served at breakfast.
small show of mould in shower cubicle.
I didn't dislike anything, however, on the website it appeared
that the Ardross Glencairn overlooked the river. This was one of the
main reasons for booking as we had friends with us from Germany, on
their first visit to Scotland and I particularly wanted a beautiful
view for them.
No sound proofing and they were very busy on reception right next to my room Number 31. Also the kettles lead was to short so you have to use the floor to boil it. Plus why have such a large kettle a mistake so many places make and you can't fit it under the tap.
Nothing.
Some adjustment needed to be made to the placement of glass shelf in en-suite, which was mentioned to the staff.
It did not apply to me, but be aware, there are only 6 car spaces for the hotel. Paid street parking is available. Between 5pm and 10am street parking is free so I did not have to pay, but others may need to consider this.
Street parking is limited to 2 hours during work time so parking is
probably a problem and the internet wasn´t working in one of the
buildings which meant I had to sit on the stairs of the other building
to access internet. Which reminds me that there is no comfortable lounge
to use in the evenings. I still recommend the place for sure.
