The Junior Suite was very stylish and well presented. When I raised a complaint about some issues with regard to my suite the staff dealt with my complaint very well. In fact, the hotel offered me a very satisfactory solution, and were very careful to ensure that my complaint was dealt with properly. The restaurant is a concession but was reasonably priced and very good. Booking is essential as it gets very busy. Room was warm and the bed was huuuuuge and comfortable with the best , most luxurious quilt and covers I have ever had the pleasure of sleeping under. I would recommend spending £30 more and getting the deluxe suite. We loved the extraordinary historical architectural beauty of the Angel Post House & Livery Stables. Integrated as it is with Bill's café (Bill Collison) makes it a great place to eat also. The location cannot be bettered; opens right onto the High Street with access to shops, restaurants, the castle grounds, the Yvonne Arnaud Theatre and the River Wey. Staff very attentive, room spotlessly clean, great quality toiletries, great quality towels and linen. Staff made me feel that they cared about me and on arrival carried my case to my room. Location excellent and although on High St the room was quiet. Have stayed there before for business and WIFI is essential. Its free here. Large room (junior suite) with a nice view to High street. The staff was amazingly friendly and nice no matter what time we got back in the hotel. We had a very fussy and busy stay but thanks to the staff it went smooth. The rooms are beautifully decorated and have a spirit of old Britain style. The hotel is lovely, our room was very kindly upgraded to a suite & it was stunning. Staff are wonderful, couldn't do enough for us. We can't wait to stay there again, would definitely recommend to anyone visiting Guildford. Hotel central - in middle of High Street. Good catering facilities with separate dining room on first floor and excellent ground floor bistro. Room had tea/coffee facilities - always a bonus. Very friendly staff. Everything about it, location, building, amazing suites. The new ground floor restaurant Bills is a nice addition. Best thing is its steps away from some lovely pubs and nice restaurants!. Genuine old world feel with all modern facilities. Soft pillows. Perfect location for the town. Great breakfast cafe /restaurant which we used a lot. We will certainly stay there again. Nothing much to say but it would be nice if the hotel staff were aware of any events such as live music and good pubs to visit etc. although the Tourist Info Office is only 200 yards away and they were equally vague. Everything was wonderful; no negatives at all!. Single glazed windows let some noise and draft inside. Room could have been a bit more nicely furnished and decorated, but that's a matter of taste. I'd expect those small shampoo and lotion bottles supply to be renewed as we ran out but it didn't happen. No room fridge. Breakfast not included. Having to rush to get my train back to London :-(. The kettle didn't work, there was only one bath towel and the shop next door had a delivery at 2am which lasted 3/4 hour, then the baker delivered to the hotel at 5am waking us both times. Not allowed into room until 2 No bar in hotel. Could have done with a couple of bottles of normal water and more tea coffee as does not include breakfast or a packet of biscuits would have been nice. Lack of a lift. Laundry piled up on the landing. Incomplete preparation of room. Breakfast is a little slow to get started in the mornings. I could not say anything bad about my stay it was fantastic!!. No aircon and although restaurant was very good a bit too fine dining for a business trip. The night I was there, there was no heating in the room and I was cold (unexpected considering it was one of their more expensive rooms). They brought me a little blow heater when I complained, but I thought it a bit odd. The internet code didn't work so I had connect to a business somewhere around. The stairs are lovely but hard with a big suitcase. I was confused by no room # and when I returned to my room the first time, I couldn't find it. very minor paint cracking on the bathroom ceiling. no breakfast include in the price. I didnt like the lack of parking area, which necessitated my husband continuously having to renew parking tickets in local car parks. For the price, it would have been nice to have had breakfast included. Way too hot - no air conditioning and room far too hot on arrival Bathroom fittings and some furniture, on closer inspection/use, were a little tired (e.g. curtain had been poorly fitted to shower in place of a door, sofa was very saggy. No hotel bar, bed had a dip in the middle. Quite noisy until the early hours with party goers outside. Strong smell of the cooked fish from the dining area which lingered all day. not being able to turn the heating down, no bin in each room, not enough tea bags and milk. Nothing. lack of a public bar/. Poor water pressure in the shower Early morning noise from street. Poor parking in the town. Waited a long time at reception for a member of staff when we arrived. No hotel communal area, bar/lounge (other than that connected with external restaurant 'Bills'. No mini-bar or residents lounge and 11pm last orders Sparkling water not replaced Sofa bed in lounge of suite - very uncomfortable as a sofa. Thick winter weight duvets made sleeping difficult, desite air conditioning. lack of bar, and bedroom cleaning service not great. Nothing really. No parking. No breakfast included in price. Bathtowels and bedsheets were not changed for the whole week. Water was not resupplied after the first bottles and you cannot fill the kettle from the bathroom. These features are poor with regards to the price paid. Basically you pay for location and pretty rooms. We enjoyed our stay and would probably stay again if it was cheaper. Our comments are in comparisson to other hotels we have stayed in which offer same price but with all the facilities. Had a High Street facing room and was noisy as needed triple glazing. Shower didn't work and the hair drier had fused. Restaurant and hotel are not linked meaning charging to your room is not possible. Bathroom mouldy especially in shower area. Not as clean as might be expected. The water pressure was very poor and I was unable to wash my hair properly or shower which rather spoiled my stay as I had to leave at 6am the following morning. I stayed in " Thomas ekins ". The hotel is on a pedestrian shopping strip so you can't park near it, the nearest car park is a multistory pay by the hour & there is no valet parking. Only 1 towel was provided, no iron or hairdryer in the room (these had to be requested), the hot water literally took 10 minutes to come through (what a waste of water) and there was barely any toilet paper supplied. Any request was met as a chore by the staff - very average customer service.
