Nestled in 18 acres of wooded gardens, Polmaily House Hotel offers bed and breakfast accommodation in the heart of the Scottish Highlands. Loch Ness is just 10 minutes’ drive away. Guests can enjoy picturesque walks on the breathtaking Great Glen Way. The hotel also provides cycling tours of the surrounding area, and offers a bicycle-rental service. Polmaily House serves a variety of locally sourced dishes, including roast Scottish beef, fresh salmon and homemade soup. Full Scottish breakfast is served in the morning, light lunches are available, and there is a selection of wine, whiskey and local beer on offer. The hotel rooms are individually decorated, with carpeted floors, TVs and tea and coffee-making facilities. Free Wi-Fi is available throughout the building, and free private parking is possible on site. The remains of Urquhart Castle are 5 miles from the hotel, overlooking Loch Ness. Inverness city centre can be reached in 25 minutes’ drive.

Stayed at this hotel for one as an additional day at the end of a short break. I wish we had just decided to book this hotel for the full duration of our trip. Upon arrival Stuart greeted us with Prosecco and a wee dram. Family rooms are very spacious and well equipped. King sized bed was extremely comfortable and breakfast by far the best of our trip (possibly the best in any British B & B). Overall service was second to none. Hotel grounds were stunning with free range chickens and a trout p.
