Very friendly staff, the room was big and well furnished, bed
comfortable, Breakfast good. One of the staff did a tour of the Haunted
bits of Hotel and told us all about it. The food in the restaurant at
night was excellent, some of the best I have had in a pub ever, if you
stay, eat there, best in Congleton in my view but very quiet. I sort of
expected pub grub and it simply wasnt, top marks. kaikki arvostelut »
The staff were extremely friendly, nothing was too much trouble. Comfortable bed. Spacious bathroom. Chef cooked a lovely breakfast. We were allowed to stay in our rooms a bit longer which was so convenient with the wedding timings. Loved the list of entertainment on the board - it showed some real effort to make it a fun venue. Sadly we were only there for one night.
Hotel very atmospheric and staff very friendly. Good breakfast and excellent quality evening meal but half board only consisted of 1 course which could not be a steak.was good! Shame more people didn't use the restaurant because the food really was good! Room not quite as nice as some seen on website but still very good. Nice powerful shower.
Fabulous location, staff were super efficient and very friendly,.the room was spacious and well decorated and stocked with the usual tea/coffee facilities, bathroom immaculate nothing negative to say.the breakfast was really well presented with good choice and the quality was evident.
Only stayed 1 night but was very clean and comfortable the menu and food was excellent ant the staff friendly and efficient
Exvellent value for money and will definately stay there again.
Lovely building, inside and out; comfortable bed and spacious, clean room & bathroom; friendly staff, good service overall. Good cooked breakfast (mostly).
An excellent room for the price. All the staff friendly and helpful and the food well cooked and good value. Will use the hotel again whenever near Congleton.
The location was perfect for our needs. Our room was spacious and the bathroom was vast! Lovely HOT water. The full English breakfast was very generous.
Great room with a beatiful view of the town and surrounding countryside. Very clean room and comfy bed. Full English breakfast that was really "full".
Room, bed and en-suite were very good and clean. Rest of the furniture
looked tired but clean. Breakfast was excellent and generous.

The period building.
Room nice and warm.
Customer Service.
Staff were helpful & friendly.
Dinner and breakfast were good with a reasonable choice.
Location was good for our requirement.
Staff were fairly accommodating
Coffee was fairly quaffable.
Nice friendly staff who are attentive and happy to help.
Staff were exceptionally welcoming & helpful.
Location in the town Ample car parking.
Nothing!.
One minor point, take the sauce sachets off the tables, the food is
exceptional, putting cafe style sachets out sort of spoils it!.
The corridors smelled a bit damp and looked tired but it's an old place and possibly needs a bit of maintenance in the structure.
Found Congleton itself a bit quiet but ok if only using it as a base.
My partner complained of it being cold in the early hours.the heating had been switched off by the hotel, which really should be left for the guests.
Breakfast felt a little rushed (cleaning was going on in view while I was eating), toast jammed on the side of the plate not in a rack so was soft all over and soggy where it rested other food, the coffee was cold.
A long way to certain rooms. If mobility is an issue mention when booking. Although our room at the back of hotel was very quiet rooms at the front get road noise until fairly late.
The slightly musty smell on the stairwell going up to our room. There were no speciality teas on offer at breaksfast and I had to provide my own. The reception area looked a bit drab and needed brightening up a bit. The reception desk looked quite cramped.
Maybe a little bit noisy from traffic and youngster on their way home from the pub.
The rest of the building looked run down, especially the corridors.
Carpets were tacky and smelt a bit in some areas. Access to the annex
was via a fire door propped open with a sign saying it was alarmed -
really? Door open all night - security?.
Nothing at all.
Nothing!.
we liked everything.
I was in a remote room and sadly the wifi was non existent. Problem came when I decamped to the bar to get online same problem :(.
Lack of a lift makes accessing room with average size luggage an effort.
However this is not unusual in English Hotels.
Nothing.
Nothing really bad, very happy with the place.
nothing.
Lots of steps inside, Not enough Bar staff during the wedding.
Only plastic cups in room would like glass.
Too many doors and no lift for customer especial when the luggage is heavy.
Our room was stiflingly hot because of the heatwave and it was not possible to open the window very wide. A fan was provided, which is as good as you can expect in this country.
The bathroom was a bit dingy and in need of decorating but clean.
Tatty carpets from the 60s that had a faint smell of cigarettes in spite of the smoking ban being introduced many years ago.
Had to pay £10 for an early check in to a room that was already ready. What exactly am I paying for? Check in is an hour later than most hotels so this is unreasonable.
Pub/Hotel so disappointed at food and drink choices.
Room rather cold.
Lack of toiletries in the bathroom Poor selection for
'continental' breakfast option including hot drinks No hotel
information in the room Just seemed to need refurbishment to bring it
up to date.
The pillow cases were dirty,
the carpets were not cleaned,
only one bedside light,
only one tea bag per person!.
