Excellent location for the NEC.
Free parking.
We stayed in room 115 on the 1st floor. Our room was spacious and the bed was very comfortable. We even had a settee. There were tea & coffee making facilities in the room. There was plenty of space in the bathroom, unlike the tiny cramped ones you usually find.
The carvery in the evening was excellent value and all the staff were very friendly. We had a very pleasant experience for the 1 night we stayed, and have already re-booked for our next. kaikki arvostelut »
We like the hotel & appreciate the helpful friendly staff. We would like a more varied food menu in the evening, maybe have steak, salad, fish available. Also maybe boiled eggs available in the morning otherwise breakfast lovely but the croissants were hard, so maybe more varied breads. Best for us is proximity to NEC, good park for walking our dogs & the welcome we always get from Joyce a real treasure for the hotel. Thank u...
Everything. I was back "home", meeting old friends. I had stayed before in a very comfortable room and was not disappointed. The staff were very friendly, as well as efficient, and the continental breakfast was exactly right. I was able to entertain my friends to coffee and they parked in the courtyard while they were there. Perfect.
The hotel was great location for NEC.
The rooms we had were spotless clean.
We arrived Sunday evening had Carvery for dinner which was lovely upgraded to full English breakfast for £3.99 in the morning.
Tried to book book up for Feb but unfortunately fully booked for the dates I required.
Great value for money :).
Clean comfortable rooms. Cosy pub downstairs with lovely food. Excellent complimentary continental breakfast with lots of choice. Child friendly. Very helpful and friendly staff who went out of their way to help. Excellent value.
Staff where very friend especially bar staff and a young waiter boy ( sorry didn't catch his name ) . The room was very clean and comfortable with a lovely bathroom . It was a enjoyable stay and we would 100/ stay again .
The staff were very helpful, the room was very clean and spacious and the variety that we had for breakfast was excellent. We decided to stay an extra night and the staff were very helpful in sorting that out for us.
Staff friendly and helpful Ample parking. Very comfortable bed. Warm
room, heater able to be altered to suit. Generally clean, with plenty of
lovely towels. Very convenient for the nec Would definately use again.
A Nice clean value for money hotel, Nice friendly staff and very
comfortable beds. Good breakfast and for only £3.99 you could have an
eat as much as you like fully cooked breakfast ( too much for me though).
location ideal for nec arena only 10 mins away your staff very helpful thanks to Katie on the bar who gave us good information on the area and recommended tc taxi good rates and reliable.
Friendly staff. Very accommodating for early morning breakfast both Saturday and Sunday.
Friday night carvery very pleasant but could have done with a change on Saturday.
We used the carvery it was amazing value, tea and coffee was plentiful in the room and the heating worked all great would defiantly use it again when at the NEC.
Spotlessly clean, all facilities for an overnight stay. Cost amazing - excellent continental breakfast. Full carvery supper for £3.99. Absolutely delighted.
The friendly staff and the value for money. The note about free essentials, ie toothbrush/shaver etc if you forgot them I thought particularly good.
The lady who looked after us at breakfast I think her name was Joyce, was so lovely, helpful and friendly. She could not do enough for us.
The staff both in the evening and morning were really friendly, for this
reason alone would go back. The room was spacious and clean.
everythin the hotel was clean, comfortable and the staff were very friendly, polite at all times and couldnt do enough to help.
Great stay - staff were brilliant - good friendly welcome and Joyce at breakfast was helpful/friendly - would stay again.
Rooms very clean - fresh towels and bedding daily.
Staff very friendly, helpful. Just couldn't do enough for you!.
Its proximity to NEC Birmingham. Food was excellent and reasonably priced. Staff were courteous and friendly.

Bed was very comfortable
Staff very friendly and helpful
Made very welcome
Lovely food and drink.
Excellent location, 7 miles from the nec food in pub great family value
for money pleasant staff.
It was cosy, quiet and good cheap food, and continental breakfast included, staff were great.
The location was excellent for the NEC. Free car parking was a big bonus and the price!.
The location was ideal for the Birmingham nec and the Crown Carvery was
a bargain.
The location was good and the staff very helpful. Room was comfortable
and clean.
The staff were exceptional going out of their way to help me and my family.
comfortable bed, decent size room, good staff, choice of food, good value.
food was excellent, we travelled a extra 25min just to stay in this hotel.
It's so close to nec staff very friendly could not do enough for you.
everything especially the food which was exceptional value for money.
Relaxed, easy atmosphere. Location to NEC. Very reasonable prices.
Room was as good if not better than similar, such as Premier Inn.
the room was nice the bed was cumfie and i enjoyed my time there.
Excellent value for money, basic but clean and comfortable.
Conveniently located for the NEC. Quiet. Economical.
Location excellent for visiting nec. Good size room.
That it was a carvery. The staff were very helpful.
staff were amazing nice and clean and restful.
Staff at Breakfast - Very Helpful and polite.
Value for money. Good location for M6 and NEC.
all the basic needs covered and great price.
The prices & the staff everyone friendly.
It exceeded our expectations in every way.
Clean comfortable, friendly helpful staff.
the location and the early breakfast.
Location as visiting NEC Birmingham.
Comfortable
Friendly
Excellent food.
Near nec.value.on site restaurant.
There is no lift, so if you struggle with stairs like I do, you may find it difficult if you have a room on the upper floors.
Not enough variety of food in the evenings...
At knocking 80 a lift would be a nice luxury, but I have known the Swan since I was tiny and this "posh" hotel has very ancient roots and cannot be altered. I noticed one ground floor room and will ask for that next time.
Noisy during the early hours - maybe because guests were leaving for early flights at the nearby airport??.
Nothing it was cheap and very friendly.
Checking in at the bar was a bit much for the non resident guests
sitting near the reception point - half a dozen guests, plus luggage,
standing adjacent to their table, waiting to check in. In room 101 the
Bathroom was generally clean, but a bit dirty behind fixtures and the
shower sealant is stained/mouldy. Shower curtain old and
discoloured, making you question its cleanliness. Plates at breakfast
were cold, which obviously affected the enjoyment of what was a very
adequate breakfast.
Nothing really, except that it might be a problem for people with
walking difficulties, as there are no lifts and a lot of stairs.
Rooms a bit hot but then so was the weather.
Finding our way from the hotel to the NEC very poorly signed and roadworks did not help.
The climb to the gods to get to the room and the beds were a little on the soft side.
Quality of the cooked breakfast was not the best. However, was only
£4.00. So guess you get what you pay for here.
Nothing.
Staff a little unsure of what was included.
Ladies loos ran out of loo roll downstairs.
The only thing I would change would be the bed as it was too hard.
The free Wi-Fi did not work in my room.
A shower curtain on the shower cubical always sucks inward an sticks to
anyone using the shower. At breakfast the cutlery was not in a place
easily seen as on the day I was there it was covered under menus. The
dried fruit was still wrapped in clingfilm and in one case had to be
torn open before I could get at it.
nothing.
Could do with a lick of paint and clean around shower screens etc in room 111.
no sky sports channels.
Could not get a good Internet connection and needs a lift.
nothing.
Wider menu choice would be appreciated but excellent value for money.
Food, although good value, was very limited with a choice of a carvery or a carvery. For that reason and that alone it is unlikely that we would use when multi personnel are staying.
Very loud banging doors through to early morning.
Trying to find the hotel.Name of Inn Keepers Lodge should be larger as
The Swan is what you see when driving along. Carvery did not look edible
at 5pm,it was very dried up.
that our bathroom was freezing.
its is hard to find if you dont know the area but once you find it its good.
late check out - i.e. 2pm would be handy - even if one had to pay extra!.
The breakfast, I was going to get the full English, but looking at the sausages and bacon which looked as though they've been under the heat lamps for ages and looked tired & aged not like the promotional pictures. So understandably I went for the continental.
Nothing.
The crying child in the next door room. Also for a family room I expected 2 beds for my kids not a sofa bed to share.
Showers could have been bigger and a better shower head / pressure.
Stairs.
Lack of information about car park access at time of booking.
