Set in an elegant Georgian house within secluded gardens and run by 2 accredited tour guides, the gold award-winning La Roche Guest House is situated at the high middle point of the island with distant sea views. La Roche is spacious and has a small outdoor heated swimming pool with water jets. Guests can relax in the drawing room with its grand piano, or in the basement cinema with a large selection of films. A computer is also available for use by guests. All bedrooms are individually decorated and each features a flat-screen TV and free WiFi. Hearty award-winning breakfasts with many options are served at a large round table and evening meals, with 24 hours notice, can be provided. La Roche is surrounded by Guernsey’s countryside and sandy beaches, and free airport/harbour transport along with car rides to destinations are available. The guesthouse can arrange local bike hire, and Guernsey Airport and Harbour are within 10 minutes' drive. There is a bus stop opposite the front gate.

Right from the start, I was made to feel warmly welcomed and I was picked up from the airport on arrival which was a welcome change for a solo traveller. La Roche is a beautiful house and the room I stayed in was luxurious, clean and comfortable. I shared a bathroom and toilet with the room next door but this was not a problem and worked very well. The owners, Jane and David were exquisite hosts. They were really helpful about what to see and the best way of getting there. Breakfasts were .

The room was also very nice and clean. They really helped make my stay in Guernsey memorable and enjoyable. Jane an David very friendly. informative, careing and helpful and interesting,, David is an exceptional cook . Room very relaxing and confortable , lounge area also ideal for relaing in and to read, Garden delightful, Cinema room an exciting extra. 10/10. Warm welcome, luxurious accommodation, our superb hosts, Jane and David, went out of their way to make our stay as special as possible. Advice, transport, convivial company, assistance all combined to make our stay unforgettable. Thank you Jane and David. David & Jane are very attentive and are both very good at what they do. Hiring a car would have made our sight seeing for our short stay easier. Nothing to dislike at all. Finding the place was a bit difficult if you're using the bus. But the hosts offer lifts, which is generous and worth knowing about... Nothing.
