Set in a charming Devon longhouse dating back to the 13th century, this inn is located between Dartmoor’s Okehampton and Tavistock in the hamlet of Lake. It offers cosy accommodation and traditional cuisine. Individually-styled rooms at the Bearslake Inn include a TV, CD player and tea and coffee making facilities. Each has an en suite bathroom with hairdryer and ironing facilities are available. The Bearslake Inn specialises in West country-style meals with locally sourced produce. Everything! The staff were friendly and helpful, the room was huge - more of a suite really - and was very comfortable. The pub itself was cosy and welcoming and it was nice to have the choice of eating in the restaurant or in the bar.We stayed 3 nights and ate at the hotel every evening - the food was very good and local produce was used. Breakfast was huge and kept us going through long walks on Dartmoor which was literally on the doorstep. We would definitely stay there again.
kaikki arvostelut » This was a really well run and looked after inn. The very friendly and helpful staff made the stay enjoyable. This is well worth considering as a base from which to visit the surrounding area or as a stop off on your journey. It is close to the Granite way cycle trail and would be a good staging point on the Devon Coast to Coast. really warm welcoming by staff and very attentive. Loved the views of the moor from our room. Attention to detail in the room was excellent and also very clean. We stayed in the Garden room which was very rustic and quirkey. The food in the Restaurant was great and the breaksfast outstanding. The staff were friendly and welcoming, the room was very comfortable, well appointed and clean. The bar served good real ales and was well stocked with spirits, particularly malt whisky, both dinner and breakfast were excellent. I'll, most definately, be staying here again. Picturesque old pub.Situation..convenient for A30. Welcomes pets. Good breakfast. comfortable bedroom..good bedlinen. Offered fresh milk for tea tray in room. Helpful and attentive young woman at breakfast. The Inn was in lovely surroundings, Served great food, The staff were very pleasant and helpful and made you feel welcome. Stayed in Hayloft room which was almost brand new, beautifully furnished and comfortable with outstanding countryside views from double doors at one end! Staff and food were first class!. The modern room, a superb bathroom and a wonderful view. We liked the nice touch of dressing gowns and slippers. The breakfast and evening meal was first class, with excellent service. the rooms are very comfortable, nice touches, the food was of the best I have eaten, the building and location was so beautiful, we will be going back, and recommend any one to go. No, it was all good. my husband found the Binoculars he brought for the trip very handy to view the TV set as it was so small!!. No one around at bar for check in. Noisy pop music playing in bar area which did nothing for the ambiance befitting a lovely old hostelry. Nothing. there was nothing to dislike. That I couldn't stay longer!. Bitter cold room on arrival had to request heating be turned on on two occasions. Stayed 3 nights 1 bottle of water between us and 1 lot of biscuits which were not replaced, nowhere other than small bar area to sit comfortably and chat with friends. Tv in garden room very small. I don't really have any complaints at all, but if I were to be really critical the only downsides to the room were the tv was too small for the room, and the curtains didn't block out much light - I think all hotels/ B&B's should have black-out curtains to guarantee a restful night!. Nothing. Tea at breakfast tasted strange. Nothing. Really couldn't fault it. nothing. All good !!. nothing. Nothing to dislike. only thing missing was telephone in room. 9.30 last sitting for breakfast was just right. 9.00 a little early for leisure break. Nothing really. The rain! Better next time!. Nothing. Asked for bar menu food to be eaten in restaurant and we were not allowed. Nothing. just a tad on the pricey side. Watch out for the low beams - ouch. We had issues with the Garden Room which I raised with the owners. I would recommend that this room is over priced and should be avoided. Overpriced drinks, food of low standard for the price, rooms overpriced. Breakfast standard. Room was cold. No heating had been put on even though the room had been prebooked. Sat in a little side room for evening meal which was uncomfortable. Had to go outside to room. Very expensive(£96) for what you got.would not recommend it.
