Beautiful room, very comfortable ( best sleep I had on my whole trip). The breakfast was wonderful - linen tableclothes and real silver - all the finishing touches to make this a special,place to stay. It was a nice, short walk down to the water witH plenty to see along the way. Close to shopping, restaurants. The proprietors were very kind, helpful, friendly. I would definitely stay here again.

They made me a packed lunch as I was at a course all day. The rooms were very comfortable and had beautiful views. I would recommend this guest house to everyone, I would even suggest going on a holiday/break just to stay here!!. Everything. The staffs in Oakfold are really sweet, great breakfast(with multiple choices), wonderful style of the house and comfortable bedroom. Pieces of art works and antiques can be found everywhere in the house. Lovely garden with parking place. Easy of access, only 10-15 mins from the train station and can walk down all the way to the lake. Very pleasant stay, albeit for only one night. We commented we should've stayed for longer. Very welcoming staff and a very comfortable room, which given the location and price, represented really good value for money. Its quite easy to pay a lot more for significantly less in the Lake District, and I think they had it pretty much spot on. Comfortable rooms with all basic amenities for a very reasonable price. TV, tea and coffee, ensuite bathroom and lovely, friendly host. Property is also quite close to Bowness which is very convenient. Also provided free wifi which is still unusual for a UK establishment. Breakfast was also efficient and hearty. Very well run B&B. My husband and i had a weekend away without the children, which was a real treat in itself, but the location, welcoming and friendly atmosphere at Oakfold House made our time in the Lakes all the more enjoyable and relaxing. Our room was simply and beautifully furnished and extremely clean. We look forward to a return visit. Very clean and spacious room. The owners are very helpful. Breakfast is excellent and with plenty to choose. Free wi fi and free parking. 10 minutes walk to Bowness and the road is full of very good restaurants pubs coffee shops. The location is excellent. Thanks to the owners we really had a good time. Highly recommended. Cracking place to stay and with off road parking which is a bonus in Bowness and just the right distance for walking in to Bowness for shopping eating and drinking etc we had a really comfy bed that we just couldn't fit in to the suit case to take home as it was that comfy. the room was immaculate and cosy. we stayed two nights in a triple room in the attic. it takes just a two minute's walk to bowness town (so beautiful) and 10 minutes to the pier where we boarded for a river cruise. room was comfortable and the neighbourhood was peaceful. the breakfast was excellent. the owmers were very welcoming and took care of you. the room was comfortable, the shower was brill, breakfast was very good, the b&b had lots of charm and character, will definitely be going again. I would like to thank the owners for a lovely stay. The bed was one of the most comfortable I've slept in away from home. The staff were all very friendly and very helpful. The breakfast was great and the whole hotel spotlessly clean. Although a dog friendly hotel tere was no doggy odour in the room. Everything. Since Oakfold is an old-style house it doesn't have any elevators. For people with heavy luggages they will have to be ready - However, the stairs are wide enough, it will never be a serious problem then. Mild musty smell in the room as we arrived, but more a function of a very old property. All windows were open to allow full ventilation, so they were obviously aware. A really small issue to be fair. the bathroom has a surprise. it has a sky window. hopefully, we don't get helicopters hovering above. It was ideal. Perfect. Car parking was a little tight but ok. Nothing. Nothing really, parking took a little skill, however that is not a big deal and shouldn't put anyone off. I have no complaints. Stain on the bed sheet. Freezing bathroom floor; needs a bigger rug. Sorry that they did not do a evening meal because the breakfast was great. a little expensive. Nothing really, except that our room was at the top floor, without a lift. I would have preferred a lower floor room. nothing. nothing. Nothing was lovely. What's not to like?. N/A. Nothing!. just the wifi in top floor is a bit slow. Nothing.
