The room was excellent - cosy and clean with a marvellous sea view. The fish on the menu was really good and the breakfast choice extensive and very well prepared. Staff all very friendly and efficient.
Despite the parking problems, the location is excellent: a genuine cliff top location with good views and only a short walk to the beach.
A great place to stay for a leisurely weekend.
The staff were extremely pleasant and helpful. The room was warm, clean
and comfortable. Excellent meals available in restaurant and good choice
of a la carte breakfasts available in addition to a well stocked
breakfast bar. Loved seaview. kaikki arvostelut »
Nice village on the seashore. Walking routes with scenery views are very close to the hotel. Good breakfast and nice pub on the first floor of the building. It is definitely worth spending some time walking around in the village itself.

We liked to hear and see the sea from our room. The ensuite was very
nice and the bed comfortable. The staff were very helpful. The Evening
meal was very reasonably priced and well cooked.
Location, price, friendliness of staff and the super breakfast (included in price). Room was very comfortable. Would stay again and have no hesitation in recommending this establishment.
The warm and welcoming greeting we received from the start, nothing to much trouble as we had a very young granddaughter who need to be considered at meal times.
Location excellent.
The views from room
The views were right across the sea, many fishing boats on the beach.
The breakfast was excellent and good choice and presented well good value.
Lovely position with sea views.Food good and staff excellent. All

two people.

we just love the place.
super good sea view!.
Staff very friendly/helpful - nice atmosphere.
Beer village and location of the Anchor Inn.
Location.
Because of the cliff top location, car parking is a problem with the nearest long term car park some distance away if you are handling luggage.
Thought could do with an update especially in en suite, some mould
around shower area of bath. The heating was on very low and as it was
cold at Easter the bathroom stayed cold, shower had no power so
lukewarm dribble.
There's nothing to complain about.
Parking can be a problem.
At breakfast the prunes tasted a bit old, the mushrooms soggy, the
member of staff was very courteous when we mentioned this and she
offered to replace them. Everything else was very good.
Due to shape of ceiling in Room 4 the shower was a little bit ineffective in that you could not stand directly underneath nor pull shower curtain against the wall to stop water getting on floor. This could be sorted by fitting the shower differently. However, this did not detract from the excellent experience at the hotel. Bathroom was very good and roomy - with a heated towel rail which was great!.
Only one thing some TLC needed in certain areas.
No parking on site.
Lack of on site parking was a bit of a pain but we managed to park on a nearby road.
There was a small problem with the flush on the toilet, which couldn't be fixed on a Sunday evening. We were offered alternatives but preferred to stay in the better room and work around the problem.
Having to leave :(.
The lack of hotel car park.
nothing.
We both had fish for dinner which was first class but marie wanted a liquor coffee just before 9pm .I was told by the girl waitress that she had allready cleaned the machine ready for tomorrow ! !.
One of the walls in the room was very damp and room was very noisy, sounded like every time the loo was used in other rooms and on above floor that the water pipes were in the wall behind the bed,so was noisy until around 11.30pm.
Work being done. The scaffolders were there before 8am and they were right outside our window.
Parking.
Could do with referbishment but was clean.
Very little, just creaky floorboards which considering age of building is to be expected.
Can not think of any thing.
room 4 bathroom could do with updating....
No problems.
TV didn't work often
No blackout curtains/blinds.
The double bed was well past the replacement stage. Had two very poor nights.
Car Prking.
the food did leave a bit to be desired we had to send one course back as it was not cooked and the fish we had the last night was very overcooked could have done better myself leaves a lot to be desired.
Room was a bit cramped - shower area mouldy. Room was noisey - creaking floor boards, drainage from above, heating pipes creaking.
No parking, steep stairs to rooms.
No meet and greet service. Basic bedroom. Total lack of cleanliness in
bathroom. Basic bedroom given for superior price charged.Overall very
dissapointing accommadation. In need of extra staff at breakfast time.Inn
very tired in need of desperate paint work throughout. For £327 charged
for 3 nights, very over priced and very very very disapointing.Definetely
would not recommend The Anchor Inn to anyone.
