This is a superb B&B. One of the best I've ever stayed in. Pleasantly decorated and the rooms are extremely comfortable with everything you need for a good nights sleep.
The couple who run the B&B are very welcoming and do everything they can to make you feel at home.

I stayed in the single room for one night. It was very clean and more than sufficed my needs. Bed was very comfortable. The hosts were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was very good, cold cereals and fruit followed by a choice of cooked breakfasts.
Malcolm & Doreen are very welcoming. The room was comfortable. Shower was good. Breakfast was substantial and locally sourced. Free car parking at rear of property handy. Just a couple of minutes walk into the centre of Ambleside.
Food excellent, very professional. Hosts helpful and welcoming. Good value for the money paid. Would stay again but in a bigger room on a lower level, this being due to being disabled and finding all the stairs a little difficult.

We were met outside by the owner helping us to carry our bags. Very helpful (booking taxis and looking after luggage after check out) and friendly and the breakfasts (especially the poached eggs) were wonderful.
We really enjoyed our stay. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The breakfast was excellent. The B and B was central to all the restaurants, pubs and shops as well as the lake and lakeside cruise.

Set in the lake district its a bountiful old house with outstanding scenery, the Walmar is warm friendly with a good breakfast. that's all you can ask for

I was provided with an excellent breakfast/lunch carry out on the morning I was undertaking the Keswick to Barrow walk which involved a 5am departure...
Beautifully clean throughout, decor of our room was lovely, wonderful bedding too! The owners are a lovely friendly couple who made us very welcome.

Light sleepers might be put off by noise from the road and walls are a bit thin to next door room, but this wasn't a problem for me. Breakfast is served in a half an hour window in the morning.
On 1st night I only had a small towel but this was rectified for 2nd night of stay when a larger towel was left.

The en-suite shower room was tiny as both my boyfriend and I very tall.
I wish the breakfast room was open during the day to use if we needed a bit of space for tea or to use the computer. The room is small, especially with luggage, but this is no reason not to stay at the Walmar.
