They have a wonderful swimming pool on the roof level which is attached the health club which has the most up to date and modern gym equipment I have seen in any hotel.   The People, who works there, are very friendly and the Rooms were clean. We had two bedrooms, Klimaautomatik, Kitchen and more. Taxis were in Front of the Residence. It is near the Hospital, where you can laser your Eyes, 200 Meter. If you go ca. 500 Meter away, you are in the City , where you can buy clothes or something to drink and eat.   The history: Agatha Christie wrote her [Murder on the Orient Express] at this hotel. There is a small exhibition area on the fourth floor about this and other historic moments. The elevator from 1895 can still run (though not always in use). They sell postcards and other souvenirs about the hotel at the front desk. Really a piece of history! The Breakfast - A classic hotel, which I've used twice before, in 1995 & 2005, before its recent refurbishment. It's now three times the price, but the grandeur is no longer faded, it's now a true 5-star place. And I'm delighted to say that the refurb hasn't spoilt its character at all, as this is a hotel with more character and history than most! Staff were great, we got a room upgrade, and an extra hour extended checkout wasn't a problem. If we return to Istanbul, it'll be the Pera Palas for us!

  The receptionists were exceptionally excellent in providing extra information for a new guest like me who did not have much knowledge about Istanbul - it was nice and bubbling for someone like me who loves city life. Breakfast was nice and I enjoyed my stay.

  First the location of the hotel is great (city center, major attractions close to hotel). Second the hotel staff is really friendly and helpfull.
