As a solo female traveler I wanted a place with easy access from the airport and a welcoming staff and clientele. The Sultan Palas had both and much more. If you don't need to be in the center of nightlife this is a wonderful option. Regularly scheduled boats shuttle you to and from town up the scenic river. The hotel is in a beautiful area surrounded by hills and orchards. Sheep and goats graze nearby and fruit trees dot the property. Although they provide Wifi there are no TV's or phones in t.
