Me spent 6 nights at Gomez Place and was very happy there. Each room has a safe, AC and fan. Rooms are spacious and clean. The swimming pool is great and there is a nice relaxing eating area. Breakfast was very good, fresh juice, a huge fruit plate followed by eggs (any way you want), toasts, cheese and marmalade. But what really makes this guesthouse truly a top in Negombo is Gomez and his staff. You will feel there like a family member, extremely friendly and accommodating staff will make .
kaikki arvostelut » I liked everything about this boutique hotel, the staff were all friendly and attentive, the rooms were all comfortable, well fitted out and individually designed, the swimming pool clean and inviting, and the owner was very congenial and helpful to our local needs and for giving advice about travelling 'up country'. The hotel is close to the beach, just a few minutes walk. Included breakfasts were generous and nutritious. Airport transfers were available which is handy for new travellers to Sr. This place is a friendly gem and a welcome stay close to the airport. Could not find a fault. Super efficient friendly service, a quiet tranquil vibe. A 5 min walk to Negombo beach if you want to venture outside. A lovely small pool and garden. Gomez is efficient and can handle anything you need. Obviously gay orientated but my girlfriend and I had no problem with that. An intelligent, tranquil and friendly place to stay. Our stay at Gomez place was just perfect! Staff were very friendly and helpful and the owner, Gomez, made sure that we were well taken care of. The residence is a short 5 minute walk to the beach and the swimming pool is open 24 hours. We also really appreciated the fact that breakfast was available at any time of the day. I would definitely recommend Gomez Place to my friends and look forward to returning some day. Whilst we were comfortable with the overtly gay nature of Gomez Place Hotel, others, particularly those with families may not be. Gomez and his staff were extremely welcoming, friendly, helpful and accommodating. For the price and location off the main road yet near the beach and a short tuktuk ride to downtown, you would be hard pressed to beat this hotel. Thanks Gomez:-). This little hotel is an oasis of calm in the rather hectic little town of Negombo. I stayed in the wonderful room no.8, which is enormous, very comfortable and has a spectacular garden bathroom. Gomez and staff are very friendly really know how to look after his guests. They also serve one of the best breakfasts I had on my trip, with excellent coffee!. I was allowed to check early morning, was served breakfast as requested on arrival and had a driver arranged to show me around. nice location, although taxi drivers did not know it and very friendly staff. We arrived at 1:30 AM and the staff were up to greet us. After a long flight, I just went to sleep. Up the next morning to a great breakfast and then off to another city in Sri Lanka, Kandy. Large room, spotless, very friendly staff; wished I had stayed longer. This is a mainly gay hotel but straight people are welcome. The staff were extremely helpful, nothing was too much trouble and they went out of their way to accommodate our needs. The position and access to beach and restaurants,but above all the staff and owner Gomez and the relaxed attitude. Staff was very friendly and helpfull, large terrace and the near Beach, short way from the Airport. good place,and good person,near the beach,but it is a gay hotel, of course, it does not matter. Close to the airport after a very long jounrney . Ok for one night , but would not choose to stay any longer . Not much to look at in Negombo and poor night life. Nothing. Nothing. Nothing. Roomrate. The bed is not very comfortable. none. Lots of mosquitoes. Pool and surrounding pool area was very small, sun loungers needed updating. Seemed to be lots of people who were neither staff nor guests milling around. The bonfire adjacent to our room - acrid smoke in the shower room. The noise of compressors and other people's air con units. The fact that our room didn't have the promised sofa area for simply sitting down. Room 10 was probably the worst room in the property - shame because it was a nice place. Design-wise the shower room was not entirely private and could have invited peeping toms. this is a gay friendly hotel, which is not a negative. However, we did not like the fact that there were a lot of young local male visitors (non guests) hanging around. Created a bit of a strange atmosphere. We wouldn't come back again if we were in Negombo. A lot of the communal areas are very close to rooms, which can be noisy and annoying at time, as the walls weren't the thickest.
