  We had some problem the first night: they booked a room for us in another hotel 'cause we were in sort of overbooking. But from the second day the stay was great. To apologize they leave us one of the best room (and for a day more), give us breakfast for free (at the bar nearby) and discount part of the ammount. The place is in a great position, the room was clean and quiet, just little bit dark - The place was super clean. The interieur was modern and cosy, and the matresses were excellent for sleeping.   My wife and i thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Colon hotel and would recomend this hotel as an excellent central location to explore Barcelona. You are right in the centre but yet in a very quiet peacful location just off La Rambla ideal for all restaurants, the bus tours etc which are a must for anybody visiting the city. The hotel itself is beautiful and kept up. Our room was lovely with a terrace overlooking the Cathedral. Staff was very accommodating and recommended excellent restaurants.   We only had one night in this hotel and then moved to a 5 star in the Port Olympic area. The location of the Colonial hotel was fantastic. Across the street is a fantastic local area full of interesting resteraunts and bars.
