It was a very good location in the heart of the city and don't take any notice of guide books that tell you that this is an area to be avoided. It was very nice and safe both during the day and late evening.   1. LOCATION is excellent, very close to Metro station (Gran Via) & many city landmarks (Puerta del Sol, Plaza Mayor, can be reached by walk). Hotel surrounding by many shops, big stores and restaurants (Jamon 55, Cafe & Te, Rong Hua chinese restaurant is just few choices). 2. Room is completed with good wifi con - Great location near Gran Via metro station on the nice shopping street. Elevator to 4th floor. Rooms have windows for inner court, so it's quiet to sleep. You will have own keys for the building and for your room, so it's safe. The single room with shower is really nice and cosy, with air condition, sink, good mirrow, a kettle to boil water for tea etc. Also the bed was comfortable. It was my second time I stayed here and I was perfectly happy with everything.
