  My wife and i thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Colon hotel and would recomend this hotel as an excellent central location to explore Barcelona. You are right in the centre but yet in a very quiet peacful location just off La Rambla ideal for all restaurants, the bus tours etc which are a must for anybody visiting the city. The hotel itself is beautiful and kept up. Our room was lovely with a terrace overlooking the Cathedral. Staff was very accommodating and recommended excellent restaurants.   Located in a part of El Born with many tourist. However it was not that noisy in the night living on the second floor. Small cosy hotel in boutigue style with a restaurant - that we didn't attend - and a smaller breakfast room. No further facilities. Small but nice and clean room. Rate (105 Euro) was good for the location - close to everything. Love the free bottles of cold water on each floor. Didn't try the restaurant -- it looked very nice, but also a little spendy.
