Located 250 metres from Barcelona's Arc de Triomf and Plaza Urquinaona, Black Swan Hostel offers a free snack, free WiFi and air-conditioned rooms. It has a 24-hour reception and a public area with flat-screen TV. Fitted with wooden flooring and large floor-to-ceiling windows, rooms boast a rustic décor with modern furniture. The soundproofed rooms include private lockers with universal plugs, as well as bed linen. Towels are available at an extra cost. All rooms have access to a shared bathroom with showers. The property boasts a fully-equipped kitchen with fridge, microwave, oven and hobs. There are also vending machines selling snacks and drink inside the property. You will find a wide range of restaurants, bars and supermarkets in the surrounding area. Staff can provide information about what to see and do in the city. Public parking is available nearby. Plaza Catalunya, Ramblas, as well as the Borne and Gothic district, are 10 minutes’ walk away. The closest metro stations are Urquinaona and Arc de Triomf, just 2 minutes’ walk. Regular buses connecting to Girona Airport and to Costa Brava Coast leave from a bus stop located just 600 metres away.

I'm head over heels in love with Black Swan! I planned on staying there for just one night, I ended up staying for a week! Everything was perfect. The staff is great! Always very helpful and just genuinely friendly, nice and cool! The location is great! Very central, 2 minutes to Urquinaona metro station. A 10 minute walk from Placa Catalunya and Sagrada Familia. Walking distance to Parc Guell and Vila Olimpica. The rooms are okay, comfy beds, A/C, Wi-Fi, plugs in your locker so that you can ch.
kaikki arvostelut » The Black Swan Hostel is located in 7-10 minutes walk from Estacio d 'Autobusos Barcelona Nord. A sign from the street is not very well seen and you need to focus on the glass door from the street Carrer d'Alí Bei near the crossroad. You have to ring the bell and then you will be allowed to enter to the reception. There is very quick registartion at the hostel. The rooms, showers and toilets are very clean and spacious. There is a well-equipped common kitchen with electric stove , microwave ove. I had stayed in 3 hostels during my staying in BCN: St. Christopher's Inn, Urbany Hostel (Clot) and Black Swan Hostel. I liked Black Swan the most! Beucause it is quiet, less fidgety and very clean. From the very begining the girl in the reception was very nice and gave me some advice about where to go :) What I also like: the kitchen with a place for free food (that's smart!), tv sets and computers for free, a place where you can dry your towels and interior design (hip one!) with quite funny . It was a realy nice place to stay in and rest. The place was amazing for the most part, great services and offers to give you things to do in Barcelona (huge city), free guides, pub crawling, maps, personal recommendations, basicaly everythig you need to get familiar with the place. I liked the rules inside the hostel, made for respecting each other and enjoy the stay. Also, the kitchen, the beds, big enough lockers to stuff a sheep into and then plug it in to recharge and almost everything tha. The hostel was relatively new, well equipped (although I did not use kitchen facilities) with a pleasant communal area and an outside terrace, and centrally located but in a quiet residential street. It was very reasonably priced and staff were helpful and allowed me to use showers and wifi, even after I had checked out and returned for my bag. taff also helped when I was having problems finding details of local trains online. Highly recommended!. The staff were great, always willing to help out and share a laugh. they also allowed me to spend a few hours in the hostel at night when i had a flight at an ungodly hour (thanks) Rooms were clean; location was good too, not very far from the metro station, and about 15 minutes' walk from placa catalunya. Overall, great place, and would definitely stay there again when i return. I liked a lot this hostel. I can reccomend it to every young person travelling with backpacks. I liked the structure, the rooms were not so clean but either too dirty, the bathrooms and shower rooms were clean and ok, and common areas were great. I loved the beds, really confortable. And the place were the hostel stays is perfect, in a perfect city like Barcelona! Enjoy!. I really liked the city location (everything is on the walking distance), affordadle price, nice and friendly stuff, who speaks fluent English. Wi-fi with good quality all over the hostel, in every room there are lockers with in-build plugs-in. Fully equipped kitchen so you can cook yourself not just tea, but even much more. Amazing night programme for clients of hostel. First of all, I have to commend the staff. They are what really made my stay at Black Swan. I could talk abou it's location or the brilliant atmosphere throughout the place made by those staying there, but I will remember Black Swan fondly because of the staff. Absolutely fantastic. Staff was exteremly great person and everyroom is available to use Wi-fi. I thought it was cleaned up ver well. I also could use kitchen myself whenever I wanted. I wish I could go again, if I go to barcelona again, I'm gonna get there again. The staff was friendly. They offer a city tour(either gothic or gaudi) twice a day. Bar crawling they arrange at night was budget friendly and we met a lot of new people thanks to that. It is 2 min from the metro station. It's nice, clear, calm, secure, perfect location and good price. There is very nice kitchen, places for free food and good organization in the kitchen. In our room we had french windows and nice view to the street. I have to stay in this hostel because all the hotels have been fully booked during MWC, but it turns great. The location is good, stuff is good. Have a very cozy environmental and you feel very much relaxed. very modern hostel. I've never seen a hostel with so many toilets/washbasins. It did relieve some stress during the rush hour in the morning & the most friendly stuff is a big plus. almost perfect. The hostel is pretty good, good location, is very close to the principals top sites. Its clean and very friendly. Have good spaces, and the kitchen have all you need to cook. I was comfortable for 5days!!!. location. Kind staffs, easy-going atmosphere. Narrow hallways, bathroom and showers. Unfortunately 4 of the 6 ladies showers were out of order when I stayed but this did not turn out to be too much of a problem. the air-conditioning (or the lack of it) didn't really help. One night was extremely hot coz the windows had to be closed for it to work, which for some reason didn't. I only think that what is lacking there is social interaction between the clients. The hostel has the structure to offer nights with dinners to make people interact with eachother. And I know this is common in other places. This is the only complain I have!. Showers and toilets are on different floors. Not enough towel/clothe hooks in Shower rooms.. 6 people in a small room, but hey, it's a hostel, what are you going to do?. there wasn't soap and shampoo in bathroom. But it's not a problem actually. it isn't a big deal, but the showers kinda made me crazy. You have to push the button for the water in every 30 sec when you take a shower. There is no enough places to put your belongings - in bathroom(inside the cabin there's no place to hang anything-there is outside) and also into the room(there is a place to lock belongings, but the locker is not exactly to your bed and everytime you want something you should cross the room and to disturb others for every little thing(especially early in the morning or late at night. There's no light control in the room I stay so I have to ask reception to shut the lights. The bathroom is very big and clean but it seems can't be closed from the inside. maybe it could add a small reading lamp (a clip?) at the bedside, so that roomies in the dorm don't need to turn the light for the whole room on, even after the midnight... I would prefer the toilets and showers to be at the same floor, but it is not such a big problem :). Lots of climbing - toilates and showers on different floors. Only no iron for rent. The only thing I didn't like is mattress int he bed, it was too hard and not clean. It smells very bad in the room, not sure if it's from other bagpackers.but i couldn't get to sleep the whole night. The shower room is so small that there's no place to hang clothes. the room (6 beds) is so small. No free towels/shampoo, but for this money for room it is not a problem:) Not enough space for clothes in shower. the 2 missing procent were due to not very nice hostel-mates, russians who were a bit weird, but of course, not mistake of hostel. No breakfast. Toilets a little bit small. They have no maps of Barcelona. 1. terrible buzzing noises (every 10-15 seconds) during the night, so I couldn't sleep. I guess, it was temporary thing and fixed now. Also, rest of the people in the room didn't care much about that. 2. I am afraid there is a bed bugs. I started itching the night I came. And day after I was full of bites. both probles in room 105. The bathroom was quite small and you had the showers in one floor and the bathrooms in the other. The power outlet wasn't working in my room. The bathroom was a little bit small. In my room the light stays on until midnight. Some things disappears in the refrigerator. Flat pillow. notihing. Showers on different floor small room. Pillows were very thin. The staff was cold, not a feeling of a hostel community like other hostel. No wall outlets in the rooms and very few in common areas, this is really inconvenient; there is always a crowd of people in the shared areas (bathroom, kitchen) that seem to be quite small for this amount of people; noisy teenagers coming at 5 am to the hostel and not shutting up; someone stole my food from the fridge but I guess that is not hostel's or staff's fault. room, plenty of people. Too Crowded.
