The tour desk can book local activities including Doubtful Sound cruises, kayaking in Fiordland and trips to the Glow Worm Caves. The hotel also offers a guest laundry and luggage storage facilities. Staff were very friendly and very helpful and just all-around nice people. The way the rooms are arranged and made up to make the hotel itself look like a small town makes it as charming as the people who run it. Close to park and to lakefront for walks, but far enough away to be quiet and feel just secluded enough. Convenient to Town Center (all shops and restaurants) and to RealJourney's departure point for excursions.

An interesting place with all apartments labelled as village shops,businesses etc. Only a few minutes walk to lakeside and shops. location - just opposite the town centre layout of the hotel - it was really cool, it was appearing like a village. staff - was helpful and friendly, we checked out an hour late but they were happy to help with that at no extra charge. + Nice rooms + Near to city centre + Nice breakfast + Friendly Peronel + Ideal to stay if you want to do the Milford Track or if you want to dive Milford Sound. Clean,very convenient for shopping ,to find . The staff was friendly and helpful. It's easy to find a place to have dinner and breakfast. Perfect for two or more nights for access to the sounds - we did Doubtful sound. Enjoyed Italian restaurant la Dolce Vita too. When the staff at checkout realised an over charge, they were very concern to correct the mistake and very apologetic. Central location with an easy walk by the lake to the centre of the town or a pickup for pleasure trips nearby. The staff were extremely obliging and helpful. The continental breakfast was huge ! Great value for money. Close to shops and restaurants and the lakeside. A good base for taking trips to Milford Sound. Friendly, helpful staff. Excellent location for accessing local tourist sites and facilities. The rooms were clean and comfortable, the hotel is within easy reach of the town centre. That the room was immaculate and the staff very friendly and helpful. Looks like a far west village. Quiet and clean. Wide room. Very minor nit- picks are: - no drying rack for dishes in the otherwise nicely-appointed kitchenette - shower control took a bit of twiddling (and minor scalding) to figure out - dual tap/spigot in bathroom sink means you can't run warm water from just one spigot. Nothing. Coachtrips stampede for breakfast. It is one of the older motels in town, but having said that, the room was modern. And whilst not overlooking the lake it was only a 5 minute walk to the lake. The restaurant meal was pretty awful, perhaps because there was a tour bus load of guests the food had been prepared early and was dry and tasteless. I thought it was expensive for the quality or lack of. Having to pay for a complicated wi Fi, which involved entering a complicated coded user name and password every time I wanted to send an e.mail. Wi-fi isn't free. Fire alarm at 4 in the morning was not managed well, there seemed to be no process followed, no communication, no all clear given, no check to see if everyone evacuated, in a real emergency it would not have been good and needs to be addressed. Nothing. no exhaust fan in the toilet though!. No toaster in our room for making our own breakfast, it seemed we were being pushed into eating breakfast in the restaurant. Tinned peaches in our fruit salad at dinner seemed a bit ridiculous as we had been buying fresh peaches during our trip round NZ. Very basic. Breakfast is very simple, and is difficult to check out early. We would like to catch the Nakedbus at 7:05, but the service people just arrived 15 min before that. So, we need to run to the lakefront backpacker lodge in a hurry. Stale smell of garlic, presumably from previous guests. It needs a makeover as it was like what you would expect in the 1980s, eg plastic shower protector over a bath Needs a large screen TV as the very small unit is unacceptable. tacky village look. Very old fashioning bathroom with separate taps for hot and cold water. There was supposed to be a restaurant on site, but it was never open.
