  The warm welcome we received from Wendy at the reception desk was just the beginning of our very nice stay in Amsterdam at the Nesplein V. The rooms are large and decorated in interesting modern/steampunk way that sets this hotel apart from the bland chain hotels. The wallpaper in the elevator kept us chuckling, too!   Excellent service! I mentioned that we were celebrating an anniversary, two minutes later we got a bottle of wine as a congratulations. Difficult to stay anywhere else on our next trip to Amsterdam! A bit of a walk to the center, but perfect if you don't want to live in the marijuana smell or in between two red lights.   We arrived at around 10am (check-in not til 2pm) & we were allowed to go to our room almost straight away, which was brilliant as we were so tired after being awake since 3am UK time. The room was perfect! The highest ceilings ever, and amazing black-out curtains so we could catch up on sleep when it was really light outside.
