  The hotel staff (especially Jan) were extremely helpful, courteous, and friendly. The rooms were bright, clean and comfortable. The hotel was ideally located in the center of the old city, and the use of an automobile was completely unnecessary. The room was quiet, and the food was excellent. Leeuwarden very quiet and an enjoyable introduction to Freisland life, quite different to Amsterdam.
