  Highly recommended for a visit to Amsterdam Staff were outstanding We had a medical issue and the night receptionist (at 4am) really went the extra mile to help us. Room was very modern and comfortable and quite large by european standards, high standrad of bedding and amenities such as flat screen TVs.   We stayed in one of the Penthouse rooms in the Grand Hotel Downtown with a shared roof terrace that offered spectacular views across Amsterdam. The room was very comfortable and quiet with a fridge and tea/coffee making facilities (often not provided in Hotels in Europe). The Hotel is very conveniently placed for exploring the city. It´s location is perfect for those who don´t want to be in the busiest part of the city. It´s about a 10 minute walk to the very center, and a 25 minute walk to the train station.
