  The location is quite good - you just need to take tram 1 from Amsterdam Centraal train station and in 20 min go out at Eerste Constantjin station. Then in some 300 metres along the street which is opposite to the street with trams, there's a hotel in glass building. It was eady enough to find the way into the building but not inside it.   We stayed in one of the Penthouse rooms in the Grand Hotel Downtown with a shared roof terrace that offered spectacular views across Amsterdam. The room was very comfortable and quiet with a fridge and tea/coffee making facilities (often not provided in Hotels in Europe). The Hotel is very conveniently placed for exploring the city. It´s location is perfect for those who don´t want to be in the busiest part of the city. It´s about a 10 minute walk to the very center, and a 25 minute walk to the train station.
