The Riad is beautiful and traditional. The owner Said spent so much time and efforts to renovate and decorate this beautiful Riad. Every corner worth taking pictures. The Riad inside Median (the old town). We are two gals travelling. We e-mailed Said to arrange for an English tour guide and car pick up and he replied with warm greetings. Our train arrived 2-3 hrs late, so we arrived late night and worried that we will miss the pick up. I tried to call the Riad & Said called me back on my Ho.
kaikki arvostelut » Beautiful traditional Moroccan riad. There are open terrace on the roof, which is bit higher than other buildings around, so you can enjoy the view. All rooms are decorated in individual, original way with different paintings. Some rooms have only a window to internal yard, which is very nice. On the first floor there are rest area with sofas, guide books and other travel materials. The owner is French and speaks English perfectly. He is very friendly and attentive to the guests. We realy enjoy. I stayed with my sister at the Riad L'Artiste for a few nights. The Riad itself is very nicely decorated in Moroccan style, and great attention has been paid to the details to make this Riad truly authentic. The owner is a very nice guy, who did everything he could to make our stay perfect. Upon arrival, we got the typical mint tea, and he also organized a guided tour through the Medina for us (which I can defenitely recommend, as you otherwise get completely lost in there). Our room was large. The owner is really nice and you can ask him everything, he will always try to help you. Location is good, only about 10 minutes walk to the medina. The meals (on demand) were also very nice, only the breakfast (included) was a little bit simple (Morrocan way; just some bread and jam, no fruits or anything but okay). I stayed in a beautiful room: the Ceder suite: big, air-conditioned, comfortable,... sometimes a little bit of noise during the night because it's located on the street side, but t. A really beautiful riad, with the most stunning central patio. Said, the owner, was very helpful (fluent in English and French - and Arabic of course), and even stood with us while he helped us get a taxi at a fair price. The room was clean and spacious (we had the room adjacent to the central patio on the ground floor), and nice and colourful. Wonderful zellij throughout. Breakfast was lovely - breads, pancake, spreads, tea/coffee - and sufficient. Very relaxing roof terrace full of chairs and. We were warmly welcomed by Said, the owner of the Riad, with tea, and felt immediately 'at home'. He informed us about Fès, things to do, things to pay attention to, price of the taxi etc. He cooked us a wonderfull dinner, which was definitely one of the best we had during our two weeks in Morocco. He even surprised us with a refreshing orange juice after a long afternoon in the city of Fès. Being girls travelling in Morroco, he even walked us to our rental car and checked it to be sure that we. The staff, both of them- Omar and Said ( the owner) are super friendly! Said is exceptionally helpful. Since I visited Fes as a solo traveler, Said made sure that I was safe whenever I leave the hotel giving me specific directions as well as taking me to the right places (safe and hassle-free short cuts around Medina). The design of the building is downright magnificent! I remember sitting in the tea room for hours just staring at the walls and ceiling. Said was also very kind to tell me about . We rarely felt at home so quickly as in Riad L'Artiste. The Riad is beautifully and tastefully restored, renovated and decorated. Rooms are clean, big, comfortable and furnished attractively. The Riad's location at the edge of the Medina near Bab J'did means that it's only a short taxi ride to the busy tourist centres of Bab Bou J'loud and Batha. The French (but also English and Arabic speaking) owner - Saïd - might be the most hospitable man we ever met, helping us in every possible way to mak. Best position for a Riad. Next to a Bab (main entrance of the Medina), close to the road, if you come with a car you can park 50m from the main entrance. The street is quiet, no people around, very safe and with lots of light. Every room has an air conditioner with heat pump. You get 22- 24 degrees in less than an hour. The rooms are huge. We stayed in the Africaine and we suggest that. The staff is very friendly and they satisfied every request we had. The food is really really good. We had br. Said was great - he gave us a good introduction to Fes and was helpful with organising travel to bus stations/catching trains as well doing our laundry for a fair price. The Riad is tastefully decorated. We stayed in the Cedar suite which was a large room with 2 double beds. The room was very clean and the AC worked great. Breakfast was served every morning. Location is on the outskirts of the medina but only a 10-15 min walk to the heart of Fes. Taxis are available at Bab J'did (2 mins walk fr. - The riad is a wonderful building and the Egyptian Room is a little paradise, the price when we were there was really low, and I'm sure that for this price you can't get any better! - The owner, Said, speaks few different languages (especially French and English, but also some Italian and Spanish) and it's extremely helpful and a real gentleman. - The terrace it's a wonderful space to spend time in the night especially in summer, drinking the mint tea that Said prepares for you. the locattion was excellent distant from the city crowd but also walkeble to the heart of the medina. we arrived with a rented car.a public parking is available ( 20m ) You can easliy drive your car around the Medina and park near the locations you wish to visit ( the Babs , leather production area .. ) the Riad was beautifully decorated and very clean. Owned by a french couple. AC in the room ; for cooling and heating. Breakfast and dinner was both delicious. I was visiting the area with my son for a cycling holiday. Saeed agreed to look after our bike boxes while we travelled. He was very helpful generally and good company. Our room was big, and the riad was well situated for exploring the medina. Everything we wanted to see was a short walk away. Saeed got up early on our day of departure and made sure we had a good breakfast before we set off for the airport and a 7.35 flight departure. One of the best Riad we have experienced, excellent value for money, friendly French couple, helpful, very experienced. Nice breakfast, nice room with all comfort, beautifully decorated. The Riad it self is also wonderful. Nice terrace on the top where you can enjoy the sun. Very quiet location and within walking distance of the Souk of Fès. They offer also restauration if needed. The owner was so kind and considerate! He was very attentive, and such a delight to be around. The room was beautiful, and the breakfast was outstanding! At such a low price, you really cannot beat this riad whether you are young, old, or somewhere in between. This was by far the best place I have stayed at in all of Morocco! :). This Riad is incredibly beautiful and comfortable. The staff were all very friendly. Said could not be in the Riad during our entire stay and left his son Jeremy in charge for a few days. Both Said and Jeremy were extremely friendly and helped us out with a lot of things - so you are always in very good hands!. The owner and staff of the Riad were extremely friendly. Upon arriving, I was amazed at how ornate the Riad was! It is beautifully decorated and the rooms were spacious, clean and comfortable. The owner offered good instructions on walking around the Medina and learned many tips on how to bargain!. The location was good. Being very close to one of the doors of the medina, it was not hard to find. It was also very good to have breakfast included, and being received with mint tea and sweets when we arrived. In addition, the room was quite large and had air conditioning and wifi was available. Said is a really kind and nice person. He loves his work and he trasmits this throught his Riad. You can feel there as in your maroccain House. Great value for the decoration and for the breakfast, simply but good, and for the dinner on the nice terrace.thank you Said!. We had a fantastic time here, the host and staff were brilliant and the Riad is charming. The rooms are beautiful and filled with character. They were able to organise a fantastic guide for us and the food was lovely. Can not recommend highly enough!!!. Beautifully renovated riad within the medina in Fes. Riad L'Artiste is a beautiful Riad and the rooms are thoughtfully presented. They are all a good size but the Cedar and Egyptian rooms are particularly large however there is a certain amount of night time noise from the lane way can disturb sleep. The two rooms on the other side are blissfully quiet but beware of the ground floor room as it has a very steep flight of steps to the bathroom and toilet. This is a very nice Riad with friendly staff. They even left me make a couple of free phone calls. I saw a review complaining about a hard bed and mine was also a little hard but I got a very good nights sleep. Nice Riad with beautifull rooms. Maybe it's not so easy to find the place. The room was perfectly clean at my arrival, but during my stay the cleaning lady forgot to give me new toiletpaper and some amenities, also the trash in my room (empty bottles, etc..) was not taken away after a few days so I had to bring it down myself. But the owner asked me regularly if I needed some fresh towels or anything else and then it was fixed straight away!. The only thing we noticed - and you'll find this throughout Morocco - is it's a bit noisy. Simply due to the traditional layout of riads, and the use of tiles throughout, sound travels quite easily. It's not a huge problem though, and it shouldn't put you off staying here! A bit difficult to find at first, but it's very easy after that. I couldn't name one...I Really liked my stay. The staff speaks only french, not the best for a Riad but it's ok. The patio is a bit cold if you plan to visit during the winter. Nothing. - In general I can't say anything bad about this place, and I will recommend it to all my friends and people I know. Everything was perfect! No complaints!. nothing, all problems was always solved in a moment!. Fes is tough at times, particularly compared to Marakesh. Feels harder to negotiate and much more aggressive at times from locals, particularly outside medina. Less places to eat well. Our bathroom had a terrible smell but Said was aware and was fixing it. nothing. The towels seemed old and used. No areas of criticism. Our room was not provided with a key. since the ceiling is so high hard to heat the room in December. breakfast can be stronger but good for Morrocco conditions. Don't go to any hammen organised from here. I paid €30 and that didn't even include the brown soap. They had to use a scrap of someone elses that was on the floor and it only lasted 30 minutes. I has one in Essouria that cost €10 and lasted for 90 minutes and used all sorts of different Moroccan soaps and body treatments including a fantastic red wash that I think was pomegranate. A bit of a hike to the central part of the medina. Hard to find we couldn't pay with a visa card and the owner went with us to a ATM to get cash with a taxi and he let us pay the taxi,while he prommissed us that we can pay by visa at our arrival;very inconveniënt,because we missed almost our train.
