My husband and I have just returned from 6 days in Penang. We chose Traders as it was close to the bus terminal and shops which was very convenient. We never used taxis as the bus system there is exceelent so it's easy to get around the main sites by bus at very cheap prices. Led by Nardya and Roberto, the entire staff of the hotel is providing excellent services and are very hospitable. They are happy to recommend the local eateries in the area which is very nice of them. Nonetheless I would recommend to taste the pizza in their restaurant Il Bacaro which is great.

Beautiful heritage house right in the heart of Georgetown, an easy walk (in blistering heat!) to most of the key places to visit.
The owners and staff were exceedingly friendly and professional, and the room was very comfortable.
The house has been beautifully restored, with as much attention to detail in the common areas as the bedrooms.
The huge, tasty breakfast was also a bonus!

It was a very nice and comfortable hotel. The room was quiet, big and clean(however note that if you stay for 3 nights it is not cleaned during your stay so you have to keep it clean). The location was also very good, it was very centrally located. We liked the breakfast that was served in the nice outdoor restaurant. It was simple but very tasty.

It's a beautifully restored set of old houses, the staff are courteous, friendly and helpful, there are special touches like the 4pm cup of tea and kuih (local cake) by the poolside. It rained part of the time we were there but this was a lovely place to just relax and read a book in peace.
