The Shilla Jeju is 10 minutes' walk from the famous Jungmun Beach. 1) absolutely beautiful hotel, beach, scenery all excellent 2) the breakfast buffet was extensive n really delicious 3) the room bed were very very comfortable 4) love the swimming pool n jacuzzi 5) the private beach house was really nice, comfy and chill 6) the japanese restaurant abalone set was super delicious but abit pricey 7) view from my ocean view room was so so gorgeous n pretty Really enjoyed my trip to jeju and stay at shilla. Definitely will be back again!.

Always 3 or more people at the desk never had to wait. Great overall hotel facilitie and restaurants. Spa treatments were also unbelievable. Nice quite area beside lotte and Hayat regency hotels. Average rooms. Amazing check in process , every customer will find a staff waiting him personally at the entrance and takes you directly to the room without going through the usual check in process. Great hotel for family travel and stay, hotel provides lots of things for kids and outdoor. Staff Speaks English and easy to communicate. Restaurant (Parkview) was perfect, staff and food, and enough baby chairs. The room and gardens were beautiful and family friendly. The camping village was wonderful for two small children as it had a private playground and water fountain for them to play!. Everything. This is an exceptional hotel in a beautiful location and is ideal for people of all ages, with or without familes. Just bring lots of money!. Shilla is simply fabulous. Love the breakfast which are simply world class. Adore the soft colors of the interior which are pleasant to the eyes. Hotel room is very comfortable and luxurious. The staff are polite. Everything so special at Shilla Hotel, starting from the staff which trained very well, very welcome and smiling face all the time. Hotel activities very nice and enjoyable, I'll very recommended anyone visiting Jeju to stay. 1) the staff could not really speak english abit difficult to communicate but their front desk staff could speak good english 2) pillows way too soft 3) late night room service menu too limited. Need to have more non spicy food for kids. Not much. Access to the beach is difficult as you need to go through the stairs. Food is mainly local and Japanese, have to go to Lotte hotel for the Italian restaurant . We were arranged in a room close to a parking lot or high way, a bit noisy, though we requested a quite room. I stood for a long time at the reception counter with a baby and toddler waiting to be checked-in. There was a lady free but she just stood beside another server, nodding away at a customer. Then she finally asked me what I wanted and then she checked me in. I asked her if she had been busy as I had waited a long time and she apologised but I still felt it was far from 5 star service. The prices of food and drink are very high but probably in keeping with the very high standards set by the hotel. Based on a credit card exchange rate, a typical evening meal might be £50 to £55 without drinks. A beer might be between £7 and £10. Incorrect phone number in jeju government website caused us detoured for one hour drive. It stated 733XXXX when it should be 738XXXX. Pool Dance Performance on the side of swimming pool is a bit too much. You can still feel its an old hotel in the rooms. The location is a bit far off to other places of interest. We booked a twin bed room but was given a double bed room. However, they changed for us immediately. The restaurant prices are ridiculous. 35,000 won for bimbimbap?!. Many booklets where in Korean not english. english is so so. Room a bit tired looking. Bathroom needed decorating. Wine Prices Bar Opening Hours. Food is very expensive. Food was not good Some staff does not speak English. service was not of the level expected of a luxury establishment...to order room service breakfast it took 2-3 calls and transferring around from Rm Svc to Reception, etc. to order, then clarify and reclarify. First tried in English then in Korean for clarifications - disappointing. Travelling in Asia you get a sense that the quality of the hotels and the service is generally superior to anywhere else in the world in terms of the money you spend. But on a relative basis, the Shilla Jeju was not in my opinion the best value for money as it was expensive and the facilities, room (I stayed in the old wing) and the food/drinks were inferior to what I would have enjoyed for a similar price in another area, such as Bali. TOO EXPENSIVE vs 5 stars in general. Only the high price.
