Situated in the popular Dogo Hot Spring area, Onsen Ryokan Dogoya provides traditional Japanese-style accommodation with natural hot spring baths and a lovely garden. Free WiFi is available in guest rooms.
The ryokan is just a 3-minute walk from famous Dogo Hot Spring Bathhouse. It is a 5-minute walk from Dogo Onsen tram stop, which is an 18-minute ride away from JR Matsuyama Station. Iconic Matsuyama Castle is a 10-minute tram and a 5-minute lift ride away.
Each room at Dogoya is fitted with tatami (woven-straw) flooring and futon bedding. Private rooms feature a low table and seating cushions. Bathroom and toilet are shared with other guests.
Free toiletries and free towel rental are available in the hot spring bath and shower. Guests can relax in the common room with a flat-screen TV. Free luggage storage and a safety deposit box to store valuables is available with an additional fee. There are drink vending machines on site.
The property offers a free simple Japanese breakfast between 08:00-09:30.

It is beautiful, very clean and has an onsen that I enjoyed every night. In fact, I ended up booking one night and stayed four. It is just a few minutes from Dogo Hot Spring and Dogo Park, and only a tram ride or walk to the castle and downtown area. Hisa, the owner, is very friendly and helpful. I just can`t say enough - it was a wonderful experience.
The staff were incredibly kind and make you feel at home. Onsen inside was relaxing. The staff went out of their way to make my stay fun and accompanied me to a traditional tea ceremony. Best value for money accommodation with traditional japanese experience. Ideal to unwind for a few days. Nice restaurants nearby. Would love to go back. Thank you.kaikki arvostelut »
Fabulous! Very friendly and helpful staff, amazing location right down the street from the famous Dogo Onsen, beautiful, spacious and comfortable rooms. They call themselves a hostel, but it's the most amazing hostel I've ever stayed at. They also have their own Japanese Baths in house. Free Japanese breakfast. Loved it! Would return in a heartbeat.
In my opinion, this Ryokan's dormitory is very comfortable and has a clerk who is kind and can speak in english very well. It is the way to enjoy a japanese Ryokan by reasonable price. In addition, Ryokan is close to the arcade, Densha station and Dogo Onsen. So it is available to wear a japanese traditional cloth at the arcade.
The Staff = huge plus (Michiko-San's English is awesome and she welcomed up warmly)
The location is great if you are headed to Matsuyama for the Dogo Onsen area, which is the best in Japan.

Nice location, close to Dogo Onsen. I was in the Japanese dormitory and I met very nice people to chat. A Japanese breakfast is served, but you can also cook your meal.
I strongly recommand this ryokan when visiting Mastuyama.
My Japanese friend said he was regretful to not choose this hostel, this is exactly the hostel which travelers are looking for.
It has the charm of a traditional ryokan, but also has modern facilitie.
