  Staff were exceptionally nice and helpful; they were able to give us directions when we called, hopelessly lost. They greeted us warmly when we arrived with hot cups of tea and helped us to find a local restaurant. The next day, they offered to keep our luggage while we went sightseeing. The traditional breakfast in the morning was also very good and well worth the value. - The location is excellent, just 5+ mins walk from the main Kyoto station. Price is reasonable for the service and facilities. Rooms are clean and fully equipped. Staff served tea to us every day when we came back to the ryokan. They have a free cultural night event every night run by volunteer staff. They are so friendly and it was really nice learning about their lives in Kyoto, as well as pick up some origami/calligraphy writing. Highly recommended!

  We had a very japanise style room. Very luxurious with privated garden. The bathroom was a dream. May be the best I´ve ever been. I can highly recommend it if you want a relaxing and typical japanise experience. A true ryokan.
