The location is excellent, just 5+ mins walk from the main Kyoto station. Price is reasonable for the service and facilities. Rooms are clean and fully equipped. Staff served tea to us every day when we came back to the ryokan. They have a free cultural night event every night run by volunteer staff. They are so friendly and it was really nice learning about their lives in Kyoto, as well as pick up some origami/calligraphy writing. Highly recommended!

This is a truly special place to stay – an amazing location, beautiful old wooden building, and incredible service from the lovely, kind Uemura-san.
