We loved the stay there as everything was great. Friendly staff provide welcome drinks and snacks upon our arrival. It was sweet of them to provide a kid's amenity pack for my young daughter especially the small & cute bedroom slippers. My daughter said she wants to stay there again.
It will be better if they provide dinner as optional item as some people adore kaiseki dining in the ryokan.
All staff were very helpful, always trying to assist in every possible way. A warm and happy stay. Surely we would book again next time we visit Kyoto.
Only 1 point : the bathroom was a bit small.
stand in Gion district which known by years for their historical castle and geisha close to famous Ramen, nearby the hotel traditional but support with current ect such as wifi, elevator, etc
none
Arrived early and front desk happily took our bags to the room while we were out. Staff was friendly and helpful. Had hot tea and cantaloupe slices waiting in our room for us. Room was beautiful. Facilities were well kept. Room was huge. Strong value.
Front desk would not call local restaurant to make reservations for us.
The location is superb for a taste of real Kyoto. Beautiful streets full of temples around. We were in a two-room (suite) japanese room with bathrooom during Gion Matsuri so that price was high but reasonable. This is a family Ryokan and hence lacks services. The dedication and desire to please of the family that runs the hotel highly compensates. I would certainly like to return.
A pity that they cannot offer a breakfast.
Ideal Location Authentic Room Small touches 4 Dogs
Curfew (could be extended) 4 Dogs (if you're allergic)
This hotel is a ryokan, or traditional Japanese style inn with tatami floors and futon beds. The location is ideal and very lovely, in the middle of the Gion district, with easy access to many key sites, as well as restaurants and shopping. This excellent ryokan is run by a Japanese family, who are very friendly and helpful. The young man of the family speaks English and helped us with reservations and many other things that required a Japanese speaker. I would highly recommend this hotel.
The hotel is ryokan style but with out osen and location is in Gion
The outstanding location of the hotel The kindness of the staff
The esthetic of the hotel and rooms
Excellent location, warm service, they have elevator, convenient for carry big luggage
Traditional Japanese. Very nice traditional rooms, very clean. The staff is wonderful - very helpful, go out of their way to make you feel welcome, spontaneously deliver snacks to your room (e.g., big fresh strawberries).
A very warm and welcoming atmosphere with extremely hospitable staff. Fabulous location as a base point for visiting many of the attractions, temples etc around Kyoto. Easy walking distance to beautiful Gion district and restaurants, shops etc.
Only a minor thing but quite tricky to locate on first arrival!
