  Out of all the different options we had, we (3 friends) chose an apartment managed by Biriola Holiday - mainly because of the huge number of positive reviews. Communication with the manager, Matteo, was excellent and he was very friendly and helpful with everything - not to mention all the great insider tips he had for us! We were glad to be there in the low season, when Cala Gonone is almost empty (i.e. no tourists), - We traveled to Cala Gonone as a young couple and found Residence Biriola very easy to find. Upon arriving we were greeted by Bruno, the elder statesman of the residence, who was quite simply charming. He took us around, showed us the garden at the back and told us we could help ourselves to the fresh herbs and chillis.   My girlfriend and I spent several days staying here in September 2013. As many others have said, Alessandro and Monica are wonderfully hospitable and helpful. To put this into context, down the years I have travelled to well over 100 countries, staying in all manner of accommodation from 5* hotels to backpacker hostels. Wonderful hosts and wonderful location, what more could you ask for!! I would recommend to anybody looking for a beautiful retreat in the countryside with a quick car journey into Alghero town.

  The staff were so friendly they couldn't do enough for you. This is a lovely hotel very peaceful and in a perfect location if you are looking to chill out right on the beach front. The town centre of Villasimius is a two minute drive, it's a ten minute walk along a long straight road so you can't go wrong.   We liked the welcome and attention from all the staff at reception and in the dining area. The room space was good as was the garden setting. Breakfast was fine. Generally had a calm, quiet ambience when we were there in mid May. Free parking. - Lots of birds in the garden, sparrow's nests on the balcony, clean beach right near the hotel.
