After three days in Rome, the crowds started to grate on our nerves, so we made like the wealthy Romans of ancient times and got the heck out in order to get some fresh air. We took the subway to Ponte Mammolo, and a ~50 min bus ride from there to Tivoli. Heading to Tivoli, and Catillo in particular, had to be one of the best decisions we made during our trip to Italy. Situated on the first floor of a block of apartments with a lot of small family run restaurants a few paces in each direction. A few minutes walk frm the main bus routes. The hotel made a mistake and sold me a room which was already booked. As soon as they discovered the problem, they immediately called me and placed at another place which was close to all attractions but still on a residential street far away from the crowds.
