I don't just like Wineport, I love it! Its in a quiet area on the edge of Lough Ree and is so peaceful I never want to leave when I am there.
Although I travel to Athlone for business purposes, I much prefer to stay in Wineport Lodge which is about 5 miles from Athlone.

we very much liked and enjoyed our visit the suite was excellent with a beautiful view of the lake The staff could not be more helpful the food was very good the wine perhaps a touch priceie ... we did think the bar area a touch on the small side and as the weather was mild for Oct it was very warm I am sure you would be very glad of the beautiful stove on a a very cold night but most guests were taking drinks to their rooms or as it was on our night taking drinks outside if you could get cover
