  I had a very pleasant stay at Hotel Am Rothenbaum. The hotel is in an attractive neighborhood and right opposite the Hallerstrasse subway station, which is one stop from the Dammtor regional train station (much nicer than the Hauptbahnhof main station in Hamburg). All is smartly done. The breakfast, for an extra fee of 10 Eu - 100% friendly and helpful staff. The location is the best - close to the metro station, a supermarket, multiple cafes and restaurants around. Wi Fi working fast and really everywhere at the hotel. A complimentary glass of wine upon arrival was a nice surprise.

  I was a little bit sceptical when I booked this hotel because there were no other comments from boooking users but then I was really surprised. this hotel is comfortable and cozy and we had a pleasant stay. it is a bit old but you can see they are renewing it since it's now part of novum hotel group.   This is a great hotel to stay at in Hamburg. It has a cozy feel, and good sized rooms and bathrooms. We were able to walk right into the city center in about 15 minutes, and another 5 minutes to the lake.
