Also the buffet breakfasts were amazing. I've stayed in hostels around the world and this is by far one of the best.   We had a great stay from the very start. At check in the lady gave us loads of information about the best Christmas markets and was really welcoming. The apartment itself was clean and a really decent size. It's location was the best thing; virtually at the entrance the the Alte Market Christmas Market and the huge ice rink on Heumarkt.   We stayed for 8 nights, during a trade show, with our two small dogs. The room was really good. You have a fridge, and a kettle, and a lot of storage space, and a nice bathroom with proper bath. The staff was very accommodating, giving us a remote room where our dogs did not disturb anyone even by chance. This is really a good choice if you need a basecamp in Köln! - The hotel was booked with some trepidation as the location, using google street view, looked uninspiring. It is on a fairly busy road junction, but our room on the 6th floor was very quiet. The hotel stored our cycles in a store room inside. Facilities at the hotel were superb ... a well appointed kitchen with dishwasher, sink, and all the basic utensils plus bedroom and separate small lounge area with couch, tv, desk and small table. Great location for exploring the town.

This hostel is great for backpackers Nd youn couples who need a budget friendly option. The room was clean and cozy. We paid extra for a private bathroom and it was very nice. Security was outstanding and we felt very safe. - It is very flexible and does not cheat : a very good hostel, well maintained with nice atmosphere and friendly staff. It is also difficult not to meet anyone there. Then the dormitories are spacious and in good condition. No fear of gloomy rooms. Everything is à la carte : you add whatever you want - like the breakfast. It is also very close to the main station.
