Loved the location. It is steps from the train station and only about 300 meters from the beautiful town hall. The reception staff in the evening was very helpful. I needed a very early breakfast. The person in room next to my original assigned room came in 'coughing or otherwise sick'. I asked for and was given a quieter room without any question. The room looked out on the quieter back court. The restaurant next door was excellent. I had 2 starters and it made a good meal.

The breakfasts were excellent served in a nice dining area.The Hotel is just a short walk from the railway station (which we used for a day trip to Paris) and a five minute walk over the river into town. There we found lots of shops,bars and restaurants and had a wonderful time. The Hotel was in a good position near to the town. I enjoyed the market on Saturday.Plenty of Bars and eateries. It is close for sightseeing the old town. Buses are free.The staff were friendly and helpfull. Obliging and knowledgeable staff at reception (possibility for luggage storage), Clean and comfortable room, Riverside location that is close to the city centre yet on the quieter, other side of the bridge. Very helpful reception staff. Old building but clean and comfortable. Excellent location. We had driven back from South West France. This hotel is an excellent place to stop off overnight. Location is fantastic, good for trains, buses and in the centre of town. Staff very friendly. Rooms very clean and well maintained. secure parking off the road. pleasant reception staff, family room had separate enclave for the children. Location by the river and short ten minute walk from the town centre and chateau. The location of the hotel It was central and on the river with lovely views. The restaurant served lovely food. Compiegne was a pretty town. It was a proper four bedroom room - important when you are travelling with young children. Great location Garage parking. Location by the river close to town centre but a quiet location for the central position. Convenient stop over point for our journey to Dordogne. Its position and the availability of a lockable garage. It is a rather old fashioned traditional hotel but excellent for where it was near the centre of Compiègne. Excellent Bistrot attached!. Location good and receptionist excellent. I liked the location and the views of the river and bridge. View overlooked river. This is a cosy hotel for holidays. For business travellers the breakfast is too late at 7AM. However, that is a small issue. Overall I was very happy with my stay. The parking is not the best but the lady in reception did give up her parking space for me and did not charge me which was very kind of her. Would have liked tea making facilities and a proper lounge. Lack of air conditioning especially at night when sleeping. After being in Spain for our holiday compiegne was very expensive to eat and drink. Almost triple what we had being paying in Spain. Breakfast at the hotel was a bit limited. Slightly dark corridors in need of a lick of paint! The free secure parking now costs 5 euros!. A bit dark in the public areas. Leaving. hair dryer in rooms would be handy. the beds were too soft and the price higher than we normally pay for a two star hotel. size of the bed (1.90 m). Very noisy at night with road noise. I didn't like the smell of cigarettes on the bedding, and the extreme noise outside at night. Also this end of town seems to be where a lot if vagrants hang out, a little scary walking around at night with small children. Very dated. Evening bar closed. No tea coffee facilities in room. Empty and lacked atmosphere. Hot water took 10 minutes to come through the afernoon we checked in, Then, the next morning for minutes at a time, there was no water at all!.
