Surrounded by vineyards and woodland, this hotel is located in the South of Bourgogne between Lyon and Macon. It offers an on-site wine museum with wines from the hotel’s estate. Guests can enjoy free red wine tasting upon arrival. The property also boasts panoramic views across the countryside. Free WiFi internet access and a TV are provided in each of the bright rooms. All guest rooms offer air conditioning and a modern en suite bathroom. A continental breakfast is served each morning at the hotel. Free private parking is available on site. There is a garden with a terrace where guests can relax during the summer months. Open during the summer, the restaurant offers local dishes. Guests can go hiking and cycling in the area. There are also facilities for kids, including free mini golf and other leisure activities and equipment.

We stayed two nights at Les Hauts de Chénas at the end of September 2013. The establishment holds the middle between a chambre d’hôtes and a hotel. Personally we are not extremely keen on the traditional chambre d’hôtes formula as all too often the arrangements result in minimal privacy and semi-compulsory dinners and breakfast together with the other guests often sharing one and the same table. The Auberge Les Hauts de Chenas means the "Heights of Chenas" and from ther you can see a major part of the Beaujolais region and the valley of the Saone all the way to the Jura mountains in the distance. But it's what's close-up and personal that makes Chenas such a special place. Your host is "viticulturice" and mom Nathalie Fauvin. She personally presides over winetasting at your table so you can choose the dinner. This Auberge and working vinyard in Chenas, Beaujoulais, is a great find, set high above most of the vines, the views from the terrace and bedrooms at the front were spectacular, right across to the Alps on a clear day. The rooms have been beautifully finished to a very high standard with great bathrooms. You will want to dine at the Auberge as its a fair way up the hill. The food was top quality traditional french cooking. Nathaliie the proprietor served us a lovely breakfast on the terrace. a. Fantastic location within the owners hillside vineyard offering the most amazing panoramic views. Clean, comfortable rooms with modern tiled bath/shower rooms & excellent hot water. Nathalie the owner is really friendly and we enjoyed a good home cooked 3 course meal on the terrace and a bottle of her own wine. The breakfast was fresh and plentiful. In summary a great place for a stopover or perhaps a wine tasting tour, a lovely host and great value for money. Our stay was brief, but memorable. The owner couldn't do enough to accommodate us; we were travelling with a poorly (and grumpy) baby and Nathalie was incredibly considerate, transferring dinner to our room mid- meal. A special thank you to Selene, her daughter, who lent us her toys to comfort our little one. We stayed in a large, comfortable room with an incredible view. Nice room with amazing views. Excellent host, Nathalie. Very good restaurant and choice of wine especially produced from Nathalie's vineyard, she even let us taste them all before we decided which to choose. Best bread and croisants of our trip. Excellent spacious room, comfortable beds and beautiful bathroom. The owner was extremely friendly and helpful, while dinner, served on the terrace, was most enjoyable with excellent wines at a very reasonable cost. Just had to bring some home!. Everything about this place was magnificent. Nathalie who ran it did an exceptional job and made us feel comfortable and nothing was a problem. Fantastic views of valley and vinyards. Wine museum interesting. Lunch fabulous. Nathalie made our teens eggs to make breakfast more robust. Everything! A very nice experience. We hope to have the opportunity to stay there again. Just right . Contact with a very friendly and generous hostess. Cheers !!. Friendly, delicious home type cooking, beautiful views, wine tasting. location and quality. Warm and friendly welcome. The only points for improvement in our opinion are the thin pillows (add an extra pillow for each guest in the room) and the quality of the mattress (rather hard giving me a slight back ache the next morning). Only that we couldn't stay longer. Pretty much faultless. Nothing. The storm in the morning whilst having breakfast on the terrace. Never seen people run so fast! Everything else was a joy. A little difficult to find. Bigger signs needed. Wash Hand basins with no proper plug to retain the water whilst shaving!. Darkness of the room.
