We had the benefit of the ground floor room which has a door into the
small courtyard garden which was perfect for a quiet glass of wine after
a heavy day sightseeing. On the first night we drank out of the bathroom

Excellent chambre d'hôte in the centre of La Cité Médievale de Carcassonne, a few steps from the ancient Basilica of St Nazaire and the old walls and gateways. Lovely spacious room with excellent, much needed air conditioning - the temperature during the day in the cité was mid-30s. all rooms have this available apparently). 1 block away at the park is a
bus for 1 euroor the petite train for 3 euros to take one to the castle.

nicely quiet.

This small private guest house was very comfortable and well placed a short stroll from the main attractions. The on street parking was ok as it's on a quiet side street. Myriam served us an excellent breakfast in the garden.
The guest's roof terrace offers great views across to the old Cite. There are hundreds of places to eat in the evening we found the Jardin d'ete excellent, great pizzas and a good ambiance within a walled garden just below the Cite walls

Being near to the railway station it is in an ideal location with friendly helpful staff and only a 25 minute walk to the medieval city. The continental breakfast was very good for the 8 euro price.
The 2 of us stayed in a clean room with 2 double beds and a shower and toilet. The smaller 1 double bed rooms have their own bath but share a toilet, so it is worth paying a bit extra to have more room and your own toilet.

This place is a box of delights wrapped in a plain paper wrapper. Driving down the street its easy to miss the sign over the door but when you ring the bell the double carriage doors open to reveal a real gem of period property with Simone, the smiling owner, pointing us to our secure parking spot. The rooms are individually styled to suit the centuries old building, but with comfortable beds, some of them four poster.

Great price, free secure carpark comfy bed and its a 15min walk to La Cite. But In the hot summer sun the walk to La Cite is punishing. No footpath or shelter, older travelers should be careful. Because of this we drove our car back to La Cite at 8pm, and the was free at this time in the evening.
