  Charming hotel, room large and bed comfortable, slightly funky furnishings added style. On the second floor with two sets of French doors to narrow terrace at the front overlooking the pool and car park with table chairs and two deck chairs. Roll down shutters helped minimise road noise overnight. Breakfast was excellent with a varied select - The hotel owners are lovely, friendly people who went out of their way to answer questions and provide area information. We had a nice, large room (I think called a "suite") with a terrace. There's a surf shop right across the street with quality rentals and a great owner (Bertrand). There's also a Boulanger across the street with some of the best bread around. The centre ville has some interesting vendors, is a bit of a hippie enclave with a nice vibe.

  position of hotel - This was without question, the worst hotel we have ever stayed at. It was unbelievably squalid, with stained, crumpled sheets on the beds, stained, still damp towels, stained carpets, walls of cardboard consistency and no night porter, so we were kept awake all night by drunken rowdies who appeared to be in the corridor.
