Probably the best at Blue Almond are the owner Juan and his lovely girlfriend Jennifer. They have been always available and very helpful. The Hostel is also making you feel like home. It is close to the centre and not on one of the main street thus it is not noisy. You can rent bikes there, snorkeling equipment and you have an equipped kitchen as well as internet which worked very good. And if you wanna try diving the first time ask Juan to send you to one of his best friends, who was even able.

He was willing to give me step-by-step directions for everything I needed and was really friendly the whole time. The rooms are clean and have comfortable beds. The kitchen is nice and big so you don't have to worry about being too crowded. The location is nice. It's not in the main city center, so it doesn't feel touristy, you get more of a local feel while being there. However, the bus stop is like a . The Blue Almond Hostel has a very homey feel. The kitchen, bathrooms, and bedding are very clean and the hostel has books, movies, bikes, and free wi-fi available for guests. Really it was one of the friendliest hostels I've stayed at. The owners, Juan and Jennifer, are the perfect balance of being helpful and friendly towards guests without being overbearing / or distant. The location is also central (a quick walk to the center) but peaceful and quiet in the evening. Overall a great place to s. The owners - Juan and Jeniffer - are a superfriendly and sociable couple. We enjoyed their company very much. The hostel is small with 3 rooms and a big living/dining room. We really felt at home here in a relaxed atmosphere. Good location: The hostel is placed just outside the concrete-hell of the touristy main city. But you can still walk there in a few minutes. Big TV, nice movie-collection and good internet. Blue Almond Hostel is the first and oldest Hostel on the Island. I had a great stay here, owners are the most amazing and warm people, they also help you with all tourist information of the Archipelago, diving and surfing info,... Safe neighbourhood, sure, it's a small walk to the center, but San Andres is a tiny island so distances are relative. Just a fantastic hostel - seemingly inhabited by a constant stream of awesome people, and the owner and his girlfriend are incredibly nice. We went out together, guests and owner and all, several times!. Great owner and the hostel had an at home feeling. Best costXbenefit you can find. They aren't kidding about the water pressure... But since that's my only complaint, I'd say this hostel was awesome. No air-conditioning - but that is why it is the cheapest option. Plenty of fans though, which was sufficient. I suppose the facilities are on the basic side, but so's the price!. You will rarely have someone there to help you with something.
