The taxi we took from the airport (170rmb which was scam) can not find the place he had to call the hotel and drop us at one of the entrance. There are two entrances. The studio apartment is in a new building, and the building is a part of a closed structure of approx. 10 buildings such as this one.   We stayed in Beijing at Xiao Yuan Alley Courtyard Hotel for 3 nights. It is lovely small hotel in Chinese style. It is very friendly, pleasant, comfortable and cute! It is situated in an old Beijing district Hutong, which is probably the only bastion of traditional Chinese climate left. The taxi from the airport to the hotel cost us 70 yuans (according to a taximet - Featuring charming, ultra-helpful English-speaking staff; the Xiao Yuan Alley hotel provides comfortable beds and good facilities, with a superbly located downtown hutong (Beijing alley) location, sensibly priced organized tours (if you wish) and excellent and very reasonably priced food available inside and nearby outside the hotel.   I love the bar/resto and the rooftop! A nice place to hang out at night or when we just want to rest for a while. I like the location because its still in the middle of city but it's not as crowded or as noisy as other city centers. It's also very close to metro station. All in all, it's perfect place to stay!
