  The staff members are incredibly friendly and helpful. The atmosphere is relaxing and the location is great for walking to various parts of the city. The accommodations are clean and comfortable and hold a bit of Winnipeg history within their walls. I went in for one drink and stayed for over two hours. The complimentary coffee delive - I loved the attention to detail, the cleanliness of the rooms and of the hotel in general. Our questions and requests were responded to quickly and politely. The only slight exception to this was the young woman who checked us out on the last day.   I liked the weekday staff at the Thriftlodge, they seemed to have a better attitude and had more smiles. The food was good, great value for your money - Pool was very nice
