  This is a charming little boutique hotel that is well-kept, comfortable, and handy central Toronto's attractions. There were several eating establishments within easy walking distance and a major subway station is right across the street. The rooms were small and simply furnished but quiet and clean.   This is a great place to stay and I will definitely be coming back. Everything is nicely informal, and the Rex staff are lovely (You have to go to the bar to check in). The room was small, but very comfortable indeed. We stayed in an en suite room, but the other rooms looked fine too (plenty of bathrooms in the corridor). I would enthusiastically - I love loved the location! Its within walking distance to Dundas Square (about 15 mins). There is also a train stay about 2 min walk from the hotel. There are also numerous train cars. There are also jazz shows on most nights. Its a great place to stay. There's also a free breakfast of toast and tea or coffee.

  The staff at Alexandra hotel were very kind and exceptionally accommodating in all our encounters during our brief (1-night) stay. Since we were coming from the States, we didn't have any Canadian currency, and the front desk staff readily provided currency exchange for any amount needed. The facilities were really clean, the location - The place is very nice and we were moved to another room after the bedbug issue and we were haven quarters heat up our laundry. The owners handled it well and took immediate action. We did not get a discount or $$ for the inconvenience but we didn't ask for it either. I wanted them to take the complaint seriously, which it was. That night and the next day they were working on the room.
