The hotel is one of only two hotels in Rio de Janeiro, that have direct access to the beach (without having to cross busy road). The location is great providing easy access to both Copacabana & Ipanema beaches. Perfect for families.
The breakfast was very good with choice of fresh juice, fresh fruits etc (plus with option to sit outside).
The view from the Sea View Room was great (try to get the rooms on 6th floor. Rooms 601 & 603 are twin bedded and Room 602 has a double bed). If you a. kaikki arvostelut »
Great place to stay in Rio. We went for the pricier rooms that overlook Ipanema beach and I'd say they were well worth it. Stunning views of the beach/bay plus dramatic sunsets. The hotel is small and calm-feeling. Having breakfast (really delicious) out on the terrace by the beach, watching the morning surf/beach exercise crowd, was a great start to the day. All you hear at night are the breaking waves - quite a feat for being in a city of 9 million people. Friendly and professional staff too,.
We received a warm welcome, staff were very helpful especially in organising trips, taxis and advice. After one night we requested a change of room and they obliged willingly. We completed six months travelling with 8 days at the Arpoador, and whilst it was expensive for us we think it represents good value for Ipanema particularly with the beachside location. The breakfast was very good and the dinner was excellent. The beachside terrace was a lovely spot, served good food and drinks by friendly.
Location is one of the best ones if you appreciate to stay as near as possible to the sea. Nice to have breakfast at the beach front. Room was simple (nothing additional) but it was clean and filled our purpose well. We had ocean view rooms which enabled to fall into sleep to the sound from the Atlantic waves. Our purposes for a succesfull stay in Rio the hotel fulfilled completely and it had friendly English speaking personnel.
The hotel is only small but has great location right at the start of Ipanema beach, you can sit out on the boardwalk for drinks/meals or dine in in the restaurant.Staff were friendly and helpful, restaurant staff were all excellent led by Roberto. Beach facing rooms a bit costly but worth it.
Even though we stayed only 1 night and arrived very late (~22:00) the decorated the room with lots of red roses for our honey moon. comparing to the previous hotel we stayed for 5 nights and payed more per night that did nothing it was a really warm welcome, thanks!.
Arpoador Inn is a SUPERB value. There are not many frills, but the staff is EXCELLENT, the location difficult to beat, and the price much more affordable than anything else on Ipanema, Leblon or Copacabana. An excellent home base to explore Rio.
Aproador is a small hotel with an outstanding location - the only hotel in Rio that is right on the beach: not any beach but Ipanema! So one can enjoy the beach without worrying about personal effects. Plus good food and friendly staff.
Location on the beach
Many reception staff helped our poorportuguese by speaking English.
room cleaned daily and professionally.
receptionstaff very helpful - taxis etc
Good breakfast included with fairly varied choices.
Excellent location, right by Ipanema beach in close proximity of bars and restaurants. Lovely views of the bay and an outdoor restaurant to have breakfast in the sunshine. Clean and spacious room and friendly staff.
The location and the continental breakfast. I liked that we were able to decide on a seaside view. The bathrooms were in good shape and the shower was nice. The people at the front desk were very nice and helpful.
We really enjoyed the location, at a quiet end of the beach, without the commotion of Copacabana Beach. Our room facing the water was a delight. The service provided by the French concierge was superb.
The location is stellar. Sit outside, have breakfast with the beach
roaring below, the loaf-like rock mountains in the background, beautiful
people passing. Nothing is better. It always gives me chills.
The location is fantastic, right on the beach at Ipanema and close to the Arpoador Rock. You can breakfast overlooking the beach and the restaurant does fabulous food. We had a very happy stay here.
Location right on the beach & excellent breakfasts. Oceanfront room provided perfect view of beach. The bathroom and shower (excellent water pressure) were both quite spacious.
Excellent location on Ipanema beach; English speaking staff very
helpful; breakfast & restaurant both very good; room clean and
contemporary; stayed almost a week-too short!.
* Great location, very close to the beach without having to cross a street (a rarity in Rio).
* Very helpful and friendly staff
* Better than similar hotels in the Arpoador area.
The location was perfect in that it was near both Ipanema and Copacobana whilst not being in the busy areas. Also, fabulous restaurant on the beach front and this was a rarity.
The hotel is perhaps the best located in Rio. Its access to the beach is immediate and makes the hotel almost unique. Staff in hotel were very good and helpful.
The location is stunning. Breakfast is excellent and changes daily. The outdoor dining is breathtaking. The daily care of the rooms is excellent and attentive.
Location right on a prime Rio beach was excellent and worth paying for. Breakfast was a feast with plenty of variety. Food at other times was fair,.
Location was excellent. Staff was very helpful and pleasant. They were in the process of upgrading the a/c in some of the rooms.
Best hotel location in Rio. We don´t need to cross a street to get to the ocean. Outstanding views of sea and Ipanema Beach.
Staff is incredibly kind and competent. Cleaning of the room was
flawless. Definitely the best value for money in Ipanema.
Food was good. Being the only hotel with no street between it and Ipanema Beach, the hotel's location is outstanding!.
the view is the best asset the hotel has, so be sure to pay extra for a room with a view of the beach.
Friendly and very helpful staff ... spoke English ... a rarity. Fantastic location on the beach.
fantastic location -- can't be beat. You don't have to cross the busy road to get to the beach.
The cot with lots of complimentary baby products they put there for us.
Excellent location, just steps from the beach
Friendly, helpful staff.
Breakfast buffet was the best we saw. Location was excellent.
The location right on Arpoador beach. A very safe locality.
friendly helpful reception staff and cleaniness of room.
We love the breakfast and view on the beach.
specialy the locaton, the brekfast room.
Beachside location and reception staff.

Free breakfast.
The 'Deluxe' Room with Sea View was pretty basic - no hair dryer (available on request from Reception), no laundry bag & price list (again available from Reception) and choice of English language TV channels limited.
Whilst the room rate is quite high, this is compensated for by the location/view.
In-room wi-fi is a little slow and patchy.
We found the road side of the hotel a bit noisy so moved to an internal room as we could not afford the beach view, and we got a rebate.
Hotel has a lively strolling path at beach side and outdoor servings until ca 11 pm. Us it did not disturb, but elderly people might mind. We stayed at the hotel twice and noticed slight variation in the ocean view rooms.
The breakfast buffet was simple but adequate.
nothing.
Chose a non-sea view room as prices were high - but possibly Rio!
Dining expensive - location?
some bar staff a littleunfriendly
Room clean but old fashioned - wood furniture; only one bedsiae cabinet and reading light.
Rather expensive.
They sometimes cleaned really late in the day. And they forgot to leave us towels/toilet paper once or twice. They didn't usually give us new toiletries.
The hotel prices were one the high side.
When we ate outside, the service was unfriendly and condescending to foreigners. The wait staff could take a few lessons from the hotel staff.
The plumbing sometimes exerts a personality that is unfortunate. It
gurgles, belches, and makes one wonder.
This isn't a luxury hotel. The rooms are clean and functional and this is reflected in the price. However the staff are wonderful and very helpful.
Bathroom towels were the worst we have ever had in ANY hotel!
Our room was spacious enough to accommodate a small upholstered chair or love seat for sitting, but we were provided with only two wooden chairs. We expect more from a property in this price range.
Perhaps a bit sterile, but still nice; subway station currently closed
so was necessary to sometimes take taxi.
* Very expensive for the room size, design and general services, although these limitations are seen in most Rio hotels (exceptions have exorbitant prices).
Rooms weren't very spacious and were a bit dated but who would spend much time in their room?.
This was two hotels. We stayed one night in a standard room and it was not good. We moved to a room with a sea view and although expensive, it was fantastic - listening to the surf etc. Breakfast was uninspiring and restaurant was very expensive.
The rooms are basic and need renovation. There is sometimes an unpleasant odor in the reception area - perhaps of sewage.
Front room didn´t have an extra chair to sit in front of the window to read or enjoy the gorgeous views.
As many other hotels in Rio, it feels a bit like back to the 90s.
Cost to eat out in Rio ranks in top 1/3 for big cities we have been in.
the overpriced restaurant with incredibly bland, tasteless food and the useless internet: wifi is free and in the rooms, but in practice you get cut off all the time and have a terrible time getting back online.
Room A/C was noisy and no hair dryer, but overall, four stars.
The 10% service charge added to the bill, which they claim is to pay the staff's salaries. What to they then do with the tariffs?.
Very small room.
A little expensive and slightly dated.
A bit too expensive.
communication with the staff was not very good.
the bedroom to small.
Design, confort, Public Spaces, figobar noise, poor wirelees speed.
No parking facilities and no agreement with nearby parking places.
