  We loved the Pousada do Vale, the staff were so friendly and helpful, the food was fantastic (fish night is a real treat) and although the bed was uncomfortable the rooms were nicely decorated and very clean! Their gardens are beautiful but beware the mozzies!   I stood there participating in an Convention in the very near Exhibition Center. Being picked up at the Airport, I had immediately a guided tour by the very friendly Taxi driver - great. Once arrived at the Hotel, I had a very warm welcome. My spacious room had a balcony, a fantastic hammock and was located in a very quiet angle of the Hotel. The staff is friendly and - A very charming hotel with helpful and very friendly staff. Our room was unusual with a clever use of space and French doors that led to an outside patio and stairs to a small balcony overlooking the wall. Good location within walking distance of many nice restaurants and artisan shops. Nice swimming pool and grounds. An oasis in the middle of Olinda/Recife. As a bonus, on Sunday nights there is an open air "market" with many interesting food choices and the usual tourist fare.

Really helpful people even though we do not speak much Portuguese, this was no problem as Ailton is fluent. The rooms are delightful, spotlessly clean, with good tv, great aircon etc and have all that one could need. Very quaint. The location is ideal for a walk to the centre. They have a nice small pool which is great at night we found to look up at the stars from. Ailton can also arrange a buggy, diving trips etc for you as needed.
