  The location is just perfect. It is right in the center of the old city center (upper city). A perfect location to explore Salvador. The area the hotel is in is newly renovated and is safe to walk around freely during days and nights. Staff speaks really good English and are extremely helpful. We went for a professional capoeira show in the evening just about 5 minutes from the hotel – supposingly one of the best in Brazil. - The hotel is charming. The staff are among the nicest, most helpful and accommodating I've found in all my travelling. The room and bathroom were spacious and clean, the bed could have slept 4 people! The location of the hotel was great for tourists, shopping (although touristy shopping mostly) and taxis were abundant and within a 1 minute walk. Good restaurants were plentiful within walking distance as well.

  The hotel owners, an extremely friendly Italian couple creates a very warm and welcoming atmosphere. Breakfast is delicious and has every day another surprise. The location is great and you can easily walk to the center or to the peaceful Santo Antonio. From our personal welcome by Charles, the owner, to the helpful stuff, including Felipe and Martos, to the amazing breakfast each morning, Pousada Redfish is a true lodging gem. Showers were always hot and with good water pressure. The in-room safe was indispensabl - Redfish is quirky in the best possible way: the artwork, the indoor jungle garden. It's small so you can get to know other travellers. The staff is helpful but not intrusive. The breakfasts are wonderful. Salvador can be a bit daunting so it's good to be just on the edge of Pelhourino but only 5 mins walk downhill.

  We stayed at the Solar do Carmo for 2 nights in March. The hotel is situated quite close to the old town on a street of renovated colonial style buildings. Some of the surrounding houses have yet to be renovated but don't be put off by the exterior. Inside the hotel is a lovely spacious reception area, decorated in a traditional style. It was a lovely spacious room with a nice balcony overlooking the ba - I cannot imagine a hotel that could better reflect the most charming aspects of Salvador. Levi provided the friendliest service I have experienced in my extensive worldwide travels. I strongly agree with all the positive things that Christina of Carnago, Italy has reported in her review.
