In winter, you can easily reach the Gerlitzen Ski Area within 15 to 20 minutes' drive. A boat service operates throughout the summer between the lakeside towns and villages. Carinthia's capital Klagenfurt and the casino town of Velden are only 15 km away from Pörtschach. They can be reached within 10 minutes by car or train.

Pension Kitty is a great place to stay for a fun vacation. The location is excellent, the hotel rooms are comfy, and the views of the mountains and lake are spectacular. It is within walking distance of various swimming areas on Lake Wörthersee and the town of Portshach. The owners Angie and Jon were instantly welcoming and warm. They made our stay quite comfortable and lovely with a tasty breakfast to boot. I would recommend Pension Kitty to anyone who wants a family and couple friendly place .

They also prepared us a nice breakfast to go on request when we had to leave the hotel earlier than the breakfast was supposed to be served -clean & comfortable/cozy space -mini fridge in room. The staff were exceptionally friendly and welcoming - really wanted to make our stay pleasurable and happy to accommodate any wish. The breakfast was excellent - more than enough to eat and great variety. able to park the car outside the Pension. Very clean accommodation. Comfy bed. Balcony. Perfect accomodation ran by two friendly people. Only 6 rooms so almost zero noise, nice breakfast and very clean rooms. Very convienient location close to the centre of Portschach and only 5 minutes walk from worthersee lake. Comfortable Pension, in a very good location and accessible by public transport (rail and bus) and with easy access to local bars and restaurants. Good breakfast too and very friendly hosts. Relaxing and clean guest house run by a lovely and welcoming British couple. Very friendly and helpful,nice locations and spectacular views. very friendly staff/owners best cheap hotel in this area. Pension Kitty is a very quiet location and not too far from the major attractions, perhaps an 8 minute walk. It is clean and comfortable. -close to railroad track but it actually wasn't too bad noise wise. The railway - far too close! Have to say in view of all the positives this would not put us off coming again. Wi fi wasn't reliable. Had no sat nav in the car so the Pension was hard to find. Close to a railway line, but this did not bother or affect our sleep in any way shape or form... Nothing to dislike. Nothing, really!. Quite noisy sometimes because there is a railway nearby. Too slim pillows. The room was a bit too small.
