  We had a lovely large triple room, beautifully decorated, spotlessly clean, warm and comfy, lovely large bathroom, great breakfast, within easy walking distance of the centre of Salzburg and 2 minutes to the train station, unassuming and friendly multi-lingual staff, fast checkout.   Location is absolutely perfect, directly on the banks of the river with a 2 minute walk to Altstadt in one direction and a 2 minute walk to night life and Mirabel castle in the other direction. The rooftop bar, Stein Terrasse is a very hip and trendy place and a excellent spot to start or end the night with a coffee or cocktail. On the day of our departure, the elevator was briefly out of order and the staff carried our very heavy bags down six flights on their own initiative. - It's the second time we stay at the elefant and i don't see any reason to look for another hotel in Salzburg anytime soon.Excellent location,big beautiful rooms,very good restaurant and the nicest front desk staff i've ever met (IRIS rules!!!)

  High quality hotel with friendly, informative staff and many little extras. Our room, in the Villa, was more of a suite and very well presented. The location is close to bus routes, only a short walk into the centre of Salzburg and but in a quiet area. The hotel staff went out of there way to help you. They booked places for us to eat and she told as about the Christmas market. They also helped us with booking of the train to our next location. We really enjoyed our stay and would go back there again.
