  Very cordial hosts-they were very happy to change the room when the heater didn,t work. In fact they upgraded me. Excellent food. - Loved the outside garden restaurant! Also appreciated having an area inside to smoke. Breakfast was wonderful!

  I was there in the circumstance of running the Ironman in St. Polten (25km driving), and was it's very relaxing for silence and kindness of the family.   We liked everything. The proprietor, Sebastian was fabulousness his establishment is very nice indeed. He has taken a lotto care with the fittings and fixtures and the rooms are great. There Re some era nice restaurants nearby and the breakfast at the hotel is good. I cannot recommend this highly enough.   We loved the location in Melk, the hotel being right on the main street, from which we could easily walk to the Abbey, restaurants, access the bike trail. We stayed at the hotel for the purpose of biking the Danube trail for a day and seeing the Abbey, so the hotel was perfect for our purpose of a place to lay our heads. Included in the price was a breakfast 7:30 am-9:30 am with coffee, juice, rol - OMG this is not a hotel... it's a Pizzeria! The reception is the restaurant cashier. And it offers the best pizza I had ever tasted. Very conveniently located in old Melk, facing the Abbey. I booked a double room, they gave me a mini-suite - my son happily took the single bed in the small segment.

  It is a nice simple and clean hostel. It has double bed, a real double bed not those two single bed joined together. When i booked this hostel, i was scared becz i read reviews that young boys make too much noise and wont let you sleep, i was driving from Germany to Vienna and this hostel was just a sleep break, anyhow thank god there was no noise... mitä ihmiset sanovat » . I guess the management already took care of the noise or may be it was just quite coz it was not booked enough by young people. Anyways it was quit - This is a youth hostel so is basic but friendly. Very suited to cyclists and families. Easy walking distance from railway station and Melk Abbey. Supermarket next door. Boat trips on beautiful part of the Danube.
